I bought some of those BB caps so I could shoot my Ruger Single-Six in the garage. I was hoping for a quiet round but they were pretty noisy and punched right through a piece of 1/2" plywood and through a tin side of a pole building. They also cost more than regular LR shells.

Go ahead and try them but you'll go back to standard Ammo.

down here we tend to use a lot of shorts for hunting rabbits and birds due to the fact that they have a shorter range and are less noisy than longs. however we have also started using winchester 22zl shells loaded with 29 grain bullets and these have been quite sucessful due to the fact that reduced velocity = Less Noise = No neighbours calling the cops reporting legal hunting on my 250 Ha property

If it moves Shoot It, If it doesn't move Shoot it until it does & then Shoot it Again!

Olympic rapid fire pistol uses shorts. Very, very expensive Eley shorts.

Olympic rifle uses long rifles. Similar very, very expensive Eley long rifles.

I was surprised to see longs are still produced. I once had a Galesi pistol that shot longs. Long rifles would not chamber.
