thats really cool but WHOAH 975.00 thats a lot. if you have ever seen a DAEWOO they had a gas piston i believe.. basically it was a korean modified copy of an AR/ M-16 variant.

Another company called Kurt's Kustom Firearms has also developed such an upgrade. As has HK in a commando length version of the M4.

I've been toying with my own designs for such a thing.

it's an exelent idea. as someone who's had to clean an AR15, i can honestly say the worst part of it is that !!!!dable gas tube. it's only natural that people would figure out a way to get rid of that horid feature.

necessity is the mother of invention, after all.

Lightbulb Gas Piston

:cheer: Ceck out Kel-Tec's new SU-16 at www.kel-tec.com! Integrated Picatinny rail, bi-pod. The stock stores extra mags. It also has ar-15 bolt and magazine well. Gas piston.

Thumbs down kel-tec

It looks nice on their website but I handled a couple of them and there is no way I'm putting down $500 for that plastic crap.
but to each his own...

Cool Gunssb

Thanks for the info. 223 looks like a bolt-action varminter from my standpoint. For Combat i would use the old trusty MAK-90, off topic im sorry. Or M1-A.

yup, the keltec is wayy too expensive for the quality. A hi-point carbine is $200 and appears better made (don't let NRAjoe see this post ). I was actually thinking of getting a kel-tec (the hi-point is illegal here), but I was "conned" by the website and pictures...toy guns feel better made than that. sorry I'm digressing from the topic too

My M17S Bushpup has the same bolt/gas system as the AR-180 - totally enclosed, and very easy to clean! The AR-180 is far more forgiving of sand and dirt than the AR-15 design. With a bit more development, it would've been the clear winner. But McNamarra's Bright Boys decided otherwise . . .

If you think 975 is expensive, check this out

http://www.dsarms.com/item-detail.cf...age=Z4CROS.gif

What's ironic is that the AR180-B and the XM17 both sell for bottom rung AR prices, and they've had the upgraded system for years now.

I'd much rather spend 800 on an AR180 or XM17 than upwards of 900 for an AR that offers the same features.

Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that any people you meet from time to time are merely the product of a deranged imagination.
