Robber Returns To Scene Of Crime To Get His Gun Back

Robber Returns To Scene Of Crime To Get His Gun Back

POSTED: 10:09 am EST January 28, 2005

MINNEAPOLIS -- It's no big surprise that a robber ran away when a store clerk snatched his gun. What is surprising is that he returned and demanded his gun back.

And Minneapolis police say that's what got him arrested.

Police say the robber set his gun on the counter while he emptied the cash drawer. That's when the cashier grabbed the gun and ordered the robber to leave.

When he returned a few minutes later, the clerk's cousin fought with him, unmasked him and forced him to flee again.

Two police officers got a partial license plate as the man drove away. They traced the license plate to a car -- where they found a glove matching one left at the market.

The suspect is charged with first-degree aggravated robbery.

wouldn't blame him - with the prices these days the gun must cost more than the dough in the cash drawer

There is no law on the books that I'm aware of that says that a robber has to be smart!! -UR
