I bought some Aquilar( spelling check anyone) mini-shotgun shells. These are
1/2 the size of regular shotgun shells. The Wolf Ammo guy at the gun show
said they only work in Winchester and Mosseberg shotguns.Well I bought
two boxes shells to check it out.In my Winchester 1200, I cramed 10 into
the tube, but it didn't feed right. The small shell kept turning flips inside the
ejector. So I try my Winchester 1300 riot.I cramed 15 into the tube, and blasted all the shells without any feed problems. Then I tried My Mosseberg
590. It didn't feed properly either.I only got 3 shells off. Has anyone ever tried
these mini shells and had the same result. Why would my 1200 not work but
by 1300 does??? Thoughts,Comments,Questions.......
They won't work right in my Mossberg 500 or my 835. They do work great in my HR singleshot thou. They tend to swing down between the runners on the feed.

They work in my 1898 marlin it holds ten....
the problem with them is that a open shelflipper enables then to bounce around and flip over backwards
if they made a small pump action "pistol"
a cut down regular pump with mods to accept the short shells
that would be cool.
it could be made as a pistol......
yea.... thats it .....
Nope, smoothbore pistols over 50 cal are an AOW. On the good side, it would only cost $5 to transfer instead of $200 for other NFA weapons. Would cost the same $200 tax to build one yourself though.

they are all ready repoping the old 1895 winchester leveraction 12ga shotgun.
I like the idea
a 10+shot lever action 12 gage. for "in home use"
at further ranges you may not deeply injure anyone but you will shure get their attention.
I bought a couple of boxes of these at a gun show just because they looked cool. However, they don't work in my Mossberg 500. There is an older shotgun ( a Remington, I think) at Pannell's where I shoot that they work in, and I almost asked them to swap. My Mossberg is in better condition, though, so I didn't

These would be great to use for Trap, Skeet, and Sporting Clays. Nice and easy to carry instead of full size shells. I wonder if Mec will come out with a reloading die for them. Hmmm

The Agulieria mini shells dont have any appreciable range, they are a around the house distance type of cartrige
The aguleria shells dont hold a pattern well at all, and the shot collum is way to short to be effective any anywhere close to regular shotgun ranges.
in an urban enviroment this may be an advantage, since you dont want the people in an adjoining apartment to be hit with shotgun pellets, if you can help it.
I found that aguleria shells spread quite nicely at pistol ranges.
the reduced charge under the reduced load of shot means that the cartrige isnt throwing very much shot out there and it's at a diminished velocity.
the best advantage is that for fighting in close quarters you can have usually twice the number of shots avalible. thats a good thing to have.
it is too bad that most popular pump shotguns cannot reliably feed the mini shells.
I've heard that the Win 1300s can withoud modification, and that Moss and Rem require a small mod. Anyone able to confirm this?
never had any problems with my old Winchester or the one I have now (I'm going to send it to my Dad in Alaska)..my Remington 870 doesn't like them though
I have seen these for a while now but have yet to pick any up.
I still can't pull myself away from full box Remington Bird Shot at Walmart for $2.95 a box. :right:
But they would be good for easy pack shells.
