My brother and I were cleaning his M77 17 HMR and after taking the stock off, we noticed that the barrel fitted to the reciever, looked a lot like the 10/22. A very quick swaping barrel.
So perhaps this is another one of my stupid questions, but can a 10/22 barrel (like after market bull barrels) fit on a M77 rimfire action?

I'd say no - don't have a m77 so can't say why but do know that they sell them separately. Also, you'll have to modify/change the stock to accomodate a 920 barrel

Yeah he knows about the stock, but he was just curious if it would work. It looks identical to the 10/22 barrel.

the m77 has a second extractor cut , other than that they are the same.

an m77 barrel will fit and function on a 10/22. the other way around will not work without machining another extractor cut in the barrel.
