Well, it's a good thing that they weren't experimenting with oral sex.

in your example the 18 year old under the law is a consenting adult -- a 17 year old is not
I'm aware of the legality of it, I would just like to know what magically happens at the ages of 18 and 21 that somehow turns us into responsible adults. I must have missed that.

When I was 17 I went out with a girl that was 14. We were still dating when I turned 18, OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm a child molester that deserves to be labeled a sexual predator my entire life. C'mon now, let's show a little common sense.

I had a similar (slightly less) age difference with a former interest. I was thoroughly restrained (hence interest and not relationship) but got burned anyway (emotionally). I now have more reasons than the law to stick to a closer age group. SRX and I were less than two years apart. I'm moving up apparently...

Age of consent laws should be used as guidelines and varied on a case by case system. I have met very mature 14 yo people and some extremely immature "adults". Age not withstanding Niether of these people were very mature in their actions, and to think, they could have produced offspring had the firearm not been involved. Then raised that child. I fully believe that we need to give these young adults more resposibility not less to get them to grow into productive members of society. IMHO anyway. Feel free to jump all over my argument.

I don't mean to sound like a young punk, even though I am!! :-) but I find it if a person can go to war for their country, at the age of 18, they can drink the alcohol that the country makes illegal, and if a girl can drive a car at the age of 16 and control others lives by her actions of driving, she can consent to sex. In the public school system, you learn what sex is when you are alot younger then 16.

ANYWAYS, My two cents, That 17 year old knew what she was doing and can make her own decisions, there wasn't corruption of a minor, just someone who forgot to put the safety on the gun, and properly store it. It's ok, He was probably one of the same thugs in the shooting range who make 20" groupings at 10 yards with a GLOCK
