UPDATED: 5:44 pm EST March 22, 2005

A game of Russian roulette is being blamed for the death of an Apopka, Fla., man Tuesday, according to Local 6 News.

Orange County investigators said Jeremiah Overstreet, 27, was watching the movie "Man on Fire" with his girlfriend at his home in Apopka.

After the scene in which Denzel Washington played Russian roulette with another character, deputies said, Overstreet put his own gun to his head knowing that there was one bullet inside the gun.

The gun fired and hit Overstreet in the head.

Ok, PC and all that stuff aside. What are you supposed to say about this one? The tool put a loaded gun to his head and pulled the trigger.

if one is so impressionable that one kills oneself on account of something they heard/saw in a movie/game/song, how much longer do you suppose they'd really last.

there is no cure for stupidity.

Wonder how many idiots did it when "The Deer Hunter" first came out?

Jumpin Jacked up Jesus!

This guy was so stupid, his parents should be slapped!
Then there are these thoughts about the story.............

"A game of Russian roulette is being blamed for the death of an Apopka, Fla., man Tuesday, according to Local 6 News." No, a full throttle nit wit should be blamed for the shooting death of the same!

"Overstreet put his own gun to his head knowing that there was one bullet inside the gun."Yup, this guy added his own chlorine to the gene pool!

"The gun fired and hit Overstreet in the head." Duh! That is what guns do when someone pulls the trigger, and there is a bullet in it, and that someone aimed the gun at his own head! Now if the retread did this with a semi auto, I will be on the floor laughing my arse off!!!

"Police: Man Killed Playing Russian Roulette After Seeing It In Movie" Is it just me or are we gonna see a whole rash of MOVIE control laws?

"Investigators are ruling the shooting an accident" Accident my but! They should rule the shooting, death by terminal stupidity!

Now, here is a thought.....

Only his girlfriend was there at the time, right? What if she did it and concocted the story???? Not trying to say anything, but it might be the perfect crime if it were to be true....

I was thinking the exact same thing. I actually knew someone who did. We were in the fire department together. Fellow firefighters/EMTs had to respond and hold his head together, trying to save his life. I went to high school with the moron's beautiful widow. He was obviously a few french fries short of a Happy Meal.

There might be a part to this story that has yet to be announced. Never underestimate the stupidity of people.
