Shinny New AR-15

:assult:
I put together my first AR-15 last night. I think it turned out pretty well. It was fairly simple once I got into it. AR-15.com has a nice tutorial. I don't know if I saved much money doing it this way, but it sure was fun. Also, I got exactly what I wanted. I don't remember seeing a factory model exactly like the one I put together.

I started with a DPMS lower and used a kit from M&A. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but the fit and finish of the kit is very nice. I went with the 16" carbine SS barrel, A3 upper and green furniture. The final weight is right at 6 lbs. I attached a link that I hope will take you to a picture.

Any suggestions for optics? I am thinking about an Eotech halo. I have a flip up rear sight (MAD) ordered.

Thanks for the info. LD. I think I will go with the Eotech. All I have to do now is save up another $250.

By the way, it actually shoots! Kinda suprized myself! :cheer:

I just did a quick off handed sight-in with my back up "flip" rear sight. I didn't have time to figure out much about accuracy - seems at least average. Will update when I have more info.

Later
