Thumbs up I think you're carring the "I'm educated and you guys are hicks", too far.

I'm not a right winged wacko. I'm a classical federalist (the classical federalists have been replaced by neo-federalists since the new Republican party). I basically think that Washington and Adams had the right ideas, that Jefferson had some good input but his direction and views were way off, and that a balance of power requires more definition than our government was given by the Democratic Republicans. As a result, a power vacuum was created that allowed many little monsters to be created that have resulted in the government we have today.

In the more descriptive sense, I'm a libertarian conservative or a conservative libertarian (take your pick). I believe that human law without freedom is tyranny and that freedom without law is anarchy which will become nothing other than tyranny after not too long.

I'm sure you guys can describe yourselves a little better than common stereotypes.
While it is wrong for me to speak for the others, i'll educate you some. The truth of the matter is that all the analyisis (sp.?) you care to do changes nothing. ALL politicos are scum. They ALL are selling us down the river and they ALL don't give a crap about anything but, thier own dang selves. If you believe otherwise, you are a waste of an education. Or, as I like to say, educated beyond your intelligence. There is not one bit of differance between the repubs are the dems. They both want to subjicate(sp.?) us all and their approach is just differant. Sadly, it IS just that simple. Oh, we all wave our Bush flags but we know he's doing us like the doggie. You, and all the others, are welcome to discribe your political views/stance/position/selves any way you care to. The fact remains, and will remain, we are free only as long as we make it too much trouble for them to put the chains on us. Many here see nothing wrong with the patriot act, for example. How dim witted they are. Our freedoms are reigned in and they think it's okay so we can catch a terrorist. They have allowed all these gun laws, some 20,000, I understand when the second amendment plainly states, "The right of the people......shall not be infringed." What do you think the laws are? Come on....we are allowing this to happen and barking like a big dog, "I'm a consevitive libritarian" or whatever makes nothing any differant. If you vote, you vote repub or dem and if you don't, you toss your vote in the toilet. With the advent of the new voting machines, I don't think it makes any differance who you vote for. They will install whomever they want, dispite who voted for whom. Why else would they insist there be no paper trail and no way to check the accuracy of the machines?
As for describing ourselves/myself better than a typical sterotype, get real. Who i really am is no person's business but, my own. I answer with humor to entertain...nothing more. I don't print my inventory (or admit to haveing one) because I don't think it wise (yes, I am paranoid. And, just because I am paranoid does not mean they are not out to get me!).

Gee, I love you too, Rufus

The last thing I was trying to say is that I'm edumacated and y'all is a bunch of dum hix. With all the intelligent thought here, I just think we could describe our positions better than a stereotypical "right wing wacko."

I'm not trying to cover for the wrongs of the rebublicans, but the Reps and Dems are definitely not identical. You tell me there's no difference between Rick Santorum and Diane Feinstein.

As far as voting machines go, yeah, that is a possibility. But it's always been a possibility in any system. Before our current media, the government could get away with something without it being known all over the country. With the current media it's harder to get away with stuff but way easier to make people believe a lie is the truth. Bottom line is that we need to better define and limit the power each branch of government exercises.

So, according to you, every politician out there is in this solely for their own gain, and couldn't care less about us. While I agree that most politicians are somewhat self-centered, there would be a lot more regulations now if Kerry had won. Believe it or not the world is not trying to enslave and torture you! Many gun laws were opposed by Republicans, and proposed by Democrats. Clones? I hardly think so. Charlton Heston is a REPUBLICAN, not a communist. Rosie O'Donnell, a strong advocate of gun control, is a DEMOCRAT. Kerry (D), wants to outlaw semi-autos. Bush (R), probably owns one. Democrats are not the same as Republicans, and in most cases neither is out to get you. Most Dems are simply misled, not evil.

P.S. I was wrong. You aren't antidisestablishmentarian, you just have pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanokoniosis.

PNEUMONOULTRAMICROSCOPICSILICOVOLCANOCONIOSIS (45 letters; a lung disease caused by breathing in certain particles) is the longest word in any English-language dictionary. (It is also spelled - oniosis.)

Bush may well own a semi-auto, I'm pretty sure Kerry does. In fact I know he does. It was given to him during the campaign and waved by him at a crowd. The Dumocrats' view of gun control is hypocritical in practically every case.

Kerry served in Nam & doesn't know the difference between select fire & semi-auto - he calls both "assault weapons" - that strange ?

That's probably because even then he was more of a politician than a soldier.

Politicians never get shot at? I really hope no one takes offense to this but, getting wounded does not make one a hero or a warrior, all that is required is to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The only point I was trying to make is that, for whatever reasons, people just become evil and untrustworthy when they become politicos of either denomination. For example, look at Bush. Though we agree, for our purposes, he seems better than kerry or algore. But, let's look at what he has done. DON'T MAKE EXCUSES FOR HIS ACTIONS! He courted us gun folks and religous people. He told the UN to bite the bag when they came around with that small arms garbage. This is the only thing he has done that is noteworthy from my perspective. Now, in return, we got the patriot act. And, God only knows what else is coming like a national ID card and other horrible stuff. Be honest, he screwed us all. He has wiped his butt in our faces because he knew we could not vote for kerry. Now, with this being his last term, look at what we got. Gas prices through the roof, economy in the crapper, our dollar failing against the Euro....the list is endless. Do you honestly think he gives a hoot about us? The guy is on a power trip and hopes to be in the history books. Look at what he has left for our children's children....debt beyond imagineation, and worse, it's still growing with no end in sight. Honestly, though I know it would have been bad for gun owners, we can only speculate as to the actions and policies that algore or kerry might have brought our way. Either choice would have been bad , and without doubt, Bush has been a nightmare. Those of you who continue to wave the bush flag are blind and do not see the forest for all the trees. Before bush we had allies. Now almost the entire world hates us. My point here is that it matters not who is in office, they are all self servers and they just cannot help themselves. Washington is the domain of satan and it seem he has dominion over all who serve there. Sorry, I did not mean to insult you. :ballons:

Yes, they are all scum, I stand by my comment. They all deserve to be ...........! Bush has done us like the doggie. He has so fouled the water we are hated world wide. He has shot our economy in the foot and devalued our dollar almost to that of the peso. Dems take our guns and repubs take our freedoms. You cannot be so blinded by your bush falg waveing that you can't see that. They both want us to shut up and pay the bill. And if we don't, they send in the jack booted thugs who are brain washed and obey corrupt laws they know are wrong. If you're so smart you know we can only guess at what algore or kerry might have done. But, based on bush's performance, we either have more restrictive gun laws or we have more freedoms removed. I think you need to read a little more and look around yoursef. Is it worth looseing our freedoms for the possibility of catching one so called terrorist? Mostly, the only people they have used these new powers on have been normal American citizens. Where have you been? I suggest you bend over and pull your head out! Hideing from the problem only makes it easyier to implement. You can make jokes all you want about my mental health. I assure you, i am wiser than you think and am right more often than not. Ask around the forum, they know. And, I'll remind you, when the chips were down, late at night, the repubs turned against us and we got the brady bill. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. :jaw: And yes, dems are evil, in the biblical sense of the word. And when they assign you your number, who do you think we will work for? When you only buy things with credits, who will you be working for? Maybe you would be better served if you thought about what all these things will mean to the average person. None of this is good. It's only reason is to control the citizen. And, even where you went to school, a controlled person is a slave.

the first two major assult weapon bans were by republicans they baned the inportation of them. so i don't know why everybody is saying that we are safe by having a republican in the white house .they can take them guns just as quick as the other guy ronald reagan put the first ban in affect then bush numer one followed with another.then clinton but clinton was a democrat .and he got a hummer and made some people jealeose so i guess thats why they will look at it as demos as gun grabers. but i guess we can look at the republicans as the ones that will just plain stop the guns from making it to our hand all together right!! i jusy wish everone would stop talking abou dem and repubs. this country has never been so devided you can't go anywhere and talk to anyone about polatics without statrting a argument.(it wasn'''t like that before bush was in the white house).

The full auto ban was a deception. The bill had nothing to do with automatic weapons when most of the folks read it. The rider was snuck in at the last minute and most didn't realize it until after it was law.

Rufus,
I would agree that Bush isn't perfect. In fact, he isn't even great. He's sort of middling. I don't like him a lot, and would have preferred Michael Badnarik(L). And the joke about your mental health was an attempt to keep things light. And you are right in that Reps aren't perfect either. The Patriot Act was one that I disagree with. But they are the lesser of two evils. We can't get perfection, but Reps are not identical with Dems. Both evil, no. Both lackluster, yes.

BRG3,
If you are a conservative libertarian, which I would also describe myself as, you should look into the Constitution Party. Oh, and where do you get your handle?
