Avatars are active again. That's good news!

Yes, Jesse has re-activated the avatars again. I've missed seeing all of your faces. I'm sure we all look exactly like those beautiful pictures of ourselves we call avatars. Mine was touched up just a tad with some hair on top.

Regardless, Jesse, thanks! :right:

Sorry guys, I've been very busy. I haven't been around since Thursday. I meant to add avatars back after the server change but I got busy. I also haven't communicated with Chris very well since I've been away... so anyway I forgot to tell him and I didn't get around to it until tonight.

Custom avatars should be uploadable now, let me know if you run into any problems.

Thanks guys,

I am too, as long as the site doesn't hurt for it. Great to see good old Captain Picard again!

yeah, i did. it just shows me a menu of available stock avatars. usually, in other forums, i'd see a couple bars at the bottom for uploading from a computer, or linking from off site. i don't see either. hense my confusion.

Custom avatars can be uploaded for use by individual user as long as it's tasteful and fits the alloted size requirements set forth by our software. As far as uploading avatars to store on our server, we don't have that option due to space concerns. Feel free to upload your own personal avatar if you like...

Someday I will do that when I get it clear how that happens. I'd like to change my Avatar to something more shocking. :insane:

.... what about linking avatars from a file host? that's what i usually do.

but i have a question, not trying to be difficult or anything, i'm just still confused; how does one upload one's own personal avatar if it's not an option? do i like, send the image to someone who then uploads it onto my profile?

The custom avatar option does not seem to be operational except for using ones previously specified before they were suspended. There is currently no option for adding a custom one.

Ed, you just have to upload the pic to a free photo hosting site (pay attention to size restrictions though - it'll tell you in the Avatar option), then go into the Avatar option and post the URL of the pic on the hosting site.
If all goes well, we'll see it!

I like VillagePhotos myself, but others like PhotoBucket or Hunt101. :right:

I don't think it can be modified right now, that's cool, one thing at a time.
