Question Not that Hi--point thing again

Just found and read most of the last cheering and dissing of the hi-point models. but my question is...... If all you could afford was a hi-point would you buy one? Like I said I've read most of your replies and from a safety issue, I've seen a cetme eat up a baffle board from too light of an operator.
A chk pistol that has had a bad temper with the ground, (rapid fire 6 of 8rnds 3 ft from shooter) and from personal experience, gas leaks from an old french bolt action. oh yeah I forgot, the first ak variant I fired had a trigger so light I chucked 1 out a 45 degrees (thank god we were out in the sticks).
So...they ain't all perfect!

Thumbs up

Hi-Points are fine if you are on a budget! They are just butt-ugly.

I almost purchased a used one in 9mm for $105 but decided to hold out for something better. From what I've heard they won't explode in your hand or anything.

I'm the most tempted by the 40 caliber carbine.

My had an offer where he would sell a new Hi-point in any caliber for $95 if you bought another handgun worth $500 or more Too bad all my handguns are under $500.

Those carbines are ugly as sin. But the 9mm pistol looked pretty good...

BRG the sights on the carbine are probably worse than the AK sights PAPA G loves. Even American Rifleman (which usually likes everything) said they were slanted - so expect to fix them up before use.

Gunssb, mine wears the scope mount. I like either the 4X scope or the Red Dot sight. Aids accuracy, and looks better too!
With the front sight and slotted upper handguard removed, it looks sleeker.

"If all you could afford was a hi-point would you buy one?

If it was all i could afford, I would buy any gun I could get. a raven, a jennings.
at one point in Arkansas, I had nothing but a traiiler and clothes. I bought a norinco 9 mm trigger cocker at a gun show for 80 bucks.

It eventually flew apart, bt at least it was something.

Rugged I'm sure you know that you can't buy the Hi-point carbine in CA anyway (if we're talking about the carbine now & not the handgun) - you know that's the weapon of choice of Columbine high-school murderer whackos

Thats all folks

I was my first attempt on this system to start a thread, and I really have been thinking of getting a carbine. I just wanted to hear from people who have really owned or shot 1. The pistols look VERY clunky to me and I read about the breaking slide retainer pin, NOT COOL!@#$, my 15 year old will be shooting it too. I do think that I"ll try to fit it with a wood or re-inforced stock

Thanks for all your opinions and happy Shooting!!!
