| Gun Show Warning
Well, we just had our last gun show today. I do not set up at the gun show but did make all of them to look around and visit with friends. About 6 months ago one of the dealers brougt in a loaded .45 Auto and laid it out on his table. Although it did have a plastic tie on it a 16 year old boy somehow managed to cock the hammer and fire the pistol. It hit another pistol on the dealers table and went into the roof. Nobody hurt. Well, today it happened again. An individual unknown to everyone set up two tables, mostly rifles. Apparently he had 5 loaded rifles in his racks that held the guns with muzzle up. As he was trying to put a plastic tie on a 25-06 the rifle went off and the bullet traveled into the ceiling. Guns shows are now history. Again, nobody hurt thank goodness. What was alarming to me was the stories, true or not, told by other dealers of going to other gun shows where people had paid to get in and brough ammo with them. They then loaded handguns and rifles and left hoping one would discharge which would produce the results of what has happened here. If any of you guys that promote gun shows have a way to prevent things like this from happending you had better get in gear with a plan. It has happened here and I hate to see an end to it all.

Well....Working with gunshows personally, there are too many people in that place and they can not regulated but only hope and trust people to have the common sense to keep the firearms unloaded. thankfully no one was injured, but in my whole time of dealing with show only once has that happened

Had one of these in Denver a few weeks ago,do you suppose the anti-gunners might have a part in this? Best way in the world to shut down gun shows.

| Check'em All
Talked with my local gun dealer and he said that is not unusual. In his store he has had individuals purposely load guns and put them back in the rack. He and I check each and every gun that is picked up by us. You just do not know who you are dealing with any more. Besides it is good practice anyways.

Thats why I don't take a gun from a dealer unless the action is open so that I can see its unloaded and safe

I can't believe I'm reading this. DEALERS setting out loaded guns? Guns are simple things to use, and the saftey needed to handle them is too. They're ALWAYS loaded unless proven otherwise. Sheesh. I HOPE it's anti-gunners. Don't need pros doing this kind of stupid thing. |

| Gun Show Warning
In the late 80's I was at a Gun Show at the Prime Osborn Convention Center in Jacksonville Florida. I was standing about five tables down from a booth that always sold Military Weapons and other Paramilitary equiptment. Somebody was looking at a Rifle and fired a round throught the ceiling. In Less than a minute several cops, Xsqueeze me, Law Officers were at the booth and escorted him out of the Show. I heard later that he had been banned from the Gun Shows. No one was hurt, and it didn't have any effect on futures shows, that I can remember, but then it was probably 14 or 15 years ago. Times were a little different then.

Almost hard to believe that some people (if you could call them that ) would be so callous. Will be attending a gun show over here this week-end, so I might enquire if any of the vendors are aware of this possibility. Sickens me to think that it would be done deliberately. Cheers.

This sounds kind of like those Peta nuts that were killing deer and leaving the carcass to rot so that they can make hunters look bad. Remember to them The Ends Justify the Means!

Wouldn't it be great if some of those people could be caught in the act, and exsposed, OF! OF! OF! I've often wondered if some of the things we here about happening around the country with guns aren't set ups, but there I go trying to be paranoid.

Line up all the idiots in the U.S.A. that has guns, then add up all the accidents that's happened with guns, do the math, it would be a small percentage that have had an accident. Throw all the other gun owners it the equasion and it would be a very very small percentage. But everyone here knows that. Just my 22 per cents worth.

We just had a gunshow this weekend, and all guns were plastic-tied. Still, from now on, I'll be keeping a better eye out for this possibility. Some vendors have their guns threaded on an alarm cable system, not allowing passers by to handle them. I like to pick 'em up and check 'em out, but generally get the vendors attention first. With this warning, we have to be extra careful.

I always ask if I can look at it before I pick it up,and if it's a gun I have no experience with,I let them show me.

PGCA had our last one too in the building it had been in for years. Now they're moving it closer to the city, and the management of the new place won't allow pre-ban guns, hi-cap mags, or bulk ammo to be sold there. Think I'll be driving over an hour to Washington from now on.

I was taught that it was a gross violation of everything holy to hand anyone else a weapon unless it was clearly unloaded with the action open. By the way, the PETA people used to go to dog shows and deliberately open untended cages to let the animals run loose. Caused havoc, it did. Most dog show participants now lock unattended cages. |

Went to a show in Topeka this last weekend. All guns had plastic ties through the bolt/action. The officer at the door was asking people carrying guns in to "jiggle" thier pockets. At first I was worried, why would he ask? Then a fella's pocket jingled and the officer took about 10 .380 rounds from the idiot. The fella said he had just been out shooting his pistol one last time before he tried to sell it and forgot he had the bullets. Needless to say the officer asked the idiot to leave and not come back! right on!!
