A 63-year-old Oshtemo Township man, reportedly fed up with noise from a loud party this morning in the 700 block of South Drake Road, assaulted another man with a .357-caliber handgun, police said.

Kalamazoo County Sheriff's deputies were called to the address at 3:40 a.m. after a report of a loud party. While they were investigating the complaint, officers heard that the 63-year-old, who was not identified, had stuck the handgun to the chest of a 23-year-old Kalamazoo man who was attending the party, Capt. Bill Timmerman said.

Deputies arrested the 63-year-old for felonious assault and possession of a firearm while intoxicated, according to the sheriff's department. He was taken to the Kalamazoo County Jail and was awaiting arraignment this morning.

The 23-year-old was not injured, Timmerman said.
