Got the cops called on me last night

My dogs stay outside, usually when it's dark they are pretty quiet but last night I guess they were wound up. 3:00 in the morning I hear the doorbell ring and the po-po is telling me to keep my dogs quiet. So my question is do you think a 357 magnum with a 158gr SP will work?

Well maybe I should try something else 1st, does anyone have any experience with shock collars? Any other suggestions? I really don't want to keep them inside as one of them never got potty trained real good. He's sweet but a tad slow. Thanks

okay the bark collars are one option but I have never used them I live in the country so I just ignore the barking or yell at them to shut up -- I am guessing your in the city limits

Bark collars are ok, but muzzles work better. Can't move his mouth to bark. Leave it on for the night and take it off in the am.

This is what I had to do with my pointer while I was living within city limits, worked very well.

Muzzle idea is a good one but as soon as I said something to my wife she shot that one down, she's a big softie. Thanks anyway.

have you thought about calling the vet and asking them what the best option is -- don't ever have the dog debarked it kills thier personalities

My neighbor has two large dogs which kept barking at squirrels. Another neighbor complained enough that the dog owner put battery powered shock collars on them. Seemed to be really effictively...until the battery ran down and apparently wasn't replaced. Now the dogs are back in their constant barking routine at every bird and squirrel that invades their turf.

I'd never do that. When I'm gone and the wife is alone she keeps them in the house. The lab/shar-pei mix can be quite intimidating if he feels his "Mama" is threatened. A good sized dog with a big bark does wonders for your sense of security.

muzzle is dangerous. dog's only defense is their teeth. a cat, a possum, a raccoon, will maul your dog with a muzzle on.

use a friggin newspaper.

when they bark, smack their nose and tell them NO!.

I talked to my vet, she recommended the shock collars so I think I'll try that. Now I just need to come up with the money.

a metal container filled with rocks shaken in the general vicinity of thier head. They don't like it at all. takes a little time for the boneheaded ones to relate it to barking. But so does a $50.00 shock collar.

All I do is through as bucket of water on them. You've got to do it as soon as they start barking, do that maybe half a dozen times normally solves the problem.

I like Thrawn's idea though Duct tape em
