Jane Fonda Film Banned From Kentucky Theaters

POSTED: 10:15 pm EDT May 17, 2005

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. -- The owner of two Kentucky theaters has refused to show the new Jane Fonda film "Monster-in-Law."

Ike Boutwell said it's because of the activist role the actress took during the Vietnam War. Boutwell trained pilots during the Vietnam War.

To show his disapproval, he displayed outside the Elizabethtown Movie Palace pictures of Fonda clapping with a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft crew in 1972.

The marquee outside Showtime Cinemas in nearby Radcliff reads: "No Jane Fonda movie in this theater."

Both theaters are just a few miles from the Army's Fort Knox, south of Louisville.

and i applaud the guy.

sticking by his principals, rather than thinking of box office receipts. this slut of the left should have been arrested and tried for treason, aid and comfort to the enemy, breaking the ban on travel to the north.

I know it was the top movie last week, but have you heard the reviews on that POS? The critics said it reminded them more of a marriage episode in the Brady Bunch then a high dollar movie production. Best laugh I got was when my "young" wife asked "Jane Fonda acts in movies?" She had never seen her act and thought all Jane did was live off her daddy's name and make excercise videos.

For years, I too, was anti Jane, I think what she did was wrong and she should have been shot. But times change, I don't like being judged by what I did thirty years ago.
We all make mistakes, some of us get passed them, some of us are haunted by them.
I can stay pissed forever, especially with myself. I'd be interested to learn how Jane feels now, if she stands by her actions, or regrets them. I'd like to be forgiven for my mistakes, people change, I did, maybe in thirty-two years Jane did.

Hmmmmm, treason is not forgivable.......

Though you are right, we all make mistakes, and times do change. But her remarks and actions were unconcionable and unforgiveable. She will be held to the fire for her actions, and past deeds can never be undone.

All Hanoi Jane has expressed regret for is posing on that AA gun for the propaganda pic. She still thinks her other actions were okay. She has no remorse. She's a slug.

I suspect that the only reason she did so was to generate buzz for her new book.

Frankly, I think she's got what she wanted then & she's getting what she wants now: publicity. Actors & politicians will say & do anything to get some screen time.

i dont agree with a statement like that.. people on death row are there a long time, should you just up and forgive them just because? nazi's were tried and punished for crimes that happened many years ago, should you just forgive them because they might be good now? i think its all an act to kiss up to the media and get attention. she likes posing on guns? shes welcome to pose at the end of mine >: (

If she wants to reform she can do so privately and get out of the public eye.
