Thumbs down The ACLU rears it's ugly head again . . .

I culled this from PerfectUnion's site:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's the quote - "The ACLU said school officials' violation of the prayer ban "must result in their removal from society."
Here's the story - http://www.theiowachannel.com/educat...55/detail.html
NEW ORLEANS -- The American Civil Liberties Union has asked a federal judge to jail public school teachers and administrators for allegedly violating a court-imposed ban on school prayers.
It's the fourth time the ACLU has told Judge Ginger Berrigan that officials in Louisiana's Tangipahoa Parish are flouting her prayer ban.
This time, the ACLU said an elementary school teacher repeatedly held prayers in her fourth-grade class, encouraged students to bring their Bibles to school, held Bible studies in the school cafeteria and admonished students who didn't show up.
In addition, the ACLU cited a prayer "in Jesus' name" that was recently given over a high school's public address system while the principal sat by silently.
The ACLU said school officials' violation of the prayer ban "must result in their removal from society."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is it just me or has this situation gotten out of hand?????
later,
scruffy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And lest we forget the ACLU's ultimate motive and agenda:

A quote from the founder of the ACLU;

I am for socialism, disarmament, and ultimately for abolishing the State itself as an instrument of violence and compulsion. I seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal.......Roger Baldwin, founder ACLU

Well, if it is true; I hope they do arrest them. No child should be forced to attend bible study in a public school.

ABSOLUTELY.
I gotta agree with the ACLU all the way.
I couldn't care less what the founder of the ACLU thinks,
You ain't gonna force my kid to worship Jesus or Allah or Whatever,
in a public school.

Whew! Tough crowd! Well, the upshot is, there is no law being broken here, just going against the ruling of a liberal judge. Since when do judges MAKE laws . . . ?
Sure, perhaps the religious study in a Public school is not a bright idea - but jailing the offender? Taking them "Out of society!?" Since when is this a crime comparable to child-molestation and murder?

The ACLU can kiss me where the sun don't shine - I don't support illegal Communist organizations. They are the ones who should be "taken out of society"!! And society would be much the better for it.
Given my way, Baldwin would be in prison for seditious activities.

There are TONS of crimes not comparable to child-molestation and murder for which you can go to jail for, and this should be one of them.
I'd bet you'd be singing a different tune if Christianity wasn't involved.

Angry

Just my point, BRG3! Okay, it's not appropriate for a Public School - but that is a school policy issue - no laws broken. The most they should be able to do is maybe get the teacher for policy violation, which could void his employment contract. They could fire him/her. But to say that the teacher should go to prison? The unmitigated gall of these Commie idjits!! What's next? Start jailing SUV owners for polluting and using too much gas bringing Junior to school? Fine the parents if Junior overeats and can't do PE?

Like the UN, this is another Communist-back organization that needs to die and fade away - it has long outlived it's (debatable) usefulness.

Madiline Murrey(sp) started all this xrap. Since her actions against having anything religious in school or government we've continued to slide downhill fast trying to all be PC.

Hey...when our forefathers founded this country they made it clear that they wanted us to be able to worship our God without discrimination or penalty from laws. So why are we caving in now? :nod:

Nope, I'd like to see her fired in such a case, but again - no reason for jail.
Jail is for crimes - not stupidity.
And not all of us Right-wing Conservative types are Bible-thumping Fundamentalists - we just don't like the danged Commies dictating policy to us, according to their interests! They had their shot in Europe and muffed it - time for them to quietly go into the ashbin of history, not our schools.

I support communist studies... as long s they include the fact that it's FAILED every time and has been responsible for far more innocent deaths than even the Nazi holocaust.

In the sense you probably meant it, I again agree with Big Dog the teacher's position should be reconsidered but that jail is just ludicrous.

What's the big deal? I Went through Lutheran Private school, elementary and high school. What's the big deal?
Communisiam seeks to eliminate ALL religion except for the religion of government. Ever notice the way socialist or democrats salavate when talking of big government?
Attack me if you will. The ACLU is afraid of Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. nuffsaid.

To quote James Carval on Larry King Alive, " It's a war Larry, it's a war!"

Ok you're right she probably doesn't deserve Jail time, as it would be a waste of resources; but if a judge tells you to jump on one foot and you don't then the Judge can send you to jail.
