Real Estate values

Been looking around here for a house and I have to tell you these people are on something.

1300 SF no garage (carport) 3BR 1Ba 1/3 acre lot: $119,000.

Best deal I have found is 1200sf, 2 BR 1Ba, 3/4 Acre lot, 1 attached garage, 1 detached Garage with workshop (two car garage) Formal dining room can be 3rd BR for $105,000

Its tiny but is manageble with all the extra room which we need.

Sounds expensive for the Triad area. I have a coworker who did a lot better than that in the Triad area for his last home purchase about a year ago.

SPOCAHP ANAR - You have good prices compared to here.

Best deal I have found is 1200sf, 2 BR 1Ba, 3/4 Acre lot, 1 attached garage, 1 detached Garage with workshop (two car garage) Formal dining room can be 3rd BR for $105,000.

That would sell for about $750,000.00 here; maybe more. Up the road about 15 miles it would go for over $1.5 million, with a 3/4 acre lot.

everywhere

its such a region thing with home prices. I have a nice 20 year old 3 bed/2bath 1300 Sq foot brick house with new central ac/ht in Mobile Alabama on a 1/2 acre lot. Market value here is around $90,000

The exact same house on the exact same lot in the city I used to live in (Birmingham Michigan) would go for over THREE TIMES that much ($300,000 easy)....and if you go to california....just add a zero on the end.

Hate to gloat but a comparable home here in Abilene is running around $50-75,000 We actually looked at a 2100 sf home home down the street that was 3 bd, 2 ba, 2 car garage on a double lot (1\2 acre?) with a real nice rock fireplace and exterior (all 4 sides) and fairly new storm windows for $89,000.00. This was a really nice place with mature pecan trees and had been meticulously maintained.

We bought our house here in Sacramento, Ca about 7 years ago, for $125,000, at the time a decent price, not really out there for a 4 bd rm 2000 sqft home, on a 1/3 of an acre. It backs up to the river, with a school and park across the street. At the time Sacramento was in a housing slump. We had been thinking of moving and the Real Estate agent thought that we could ask $425,000 for the house. We have done a lot of work on it, new yards, painted inside and out, remodeled both bathrooms and Kitchen. But a $300,000 increase in 7 years, it unreal. Like Papa G says this bubble has to burst. BTW we decided to stay here, after all it is going to be paid off in 8 years.

In New Zealand I bought a house three years ago, three bed room plus two more built onto the garage. 1/4 acre $79000NZD. House prices have gone so mad that if I sold tomorrow I should get around 280000-300000.
I payed for the house a couple of months ago, how? With the profit from the section I bought when I was 15, Payed $2000 twenty years ago, sold it for $75000, most of the increase on the section was in the last two years.

I was just offered 176,000 on my 700sf two bedroom house on a half acre, I was told I could get 200,000 minimun by a very knowledgable real estate agent. I am about 7 miles from any real town.
