Exclamation Hurricane Season is underway, big time!

Hurricane Dennis is approaching!
We're battening down the hatches here at work in Tallahassee, in preparation for the storm, which is expected in our area about Sunday night late.
Our building is going to be powered down all weekend, so we are bagging our computers (trashbags, to protect against water damage), and unplugging everything.
We floor wardens are busier than those proverbial one-legged well-drillers today!

If all goes well, the hurricane may go west, into Louisiana. Mississippi and Mobile, watch out too! We are expecting mucho rain though.
Depending on the storm, we may not go in to work Monday.

So, hows the weekend looking for y'all?

I was talking to my roommate last semester about designing a hurricane, tornado, and bulletproof house. He reminded me that we live in Pennsylvania.

Seriously though, guys, hang in there and stay safe through all of this!

Same as yours Big Dog. I haul out of New Orleans and when I was there today a lot of people were evacuating already. Crossing the footlog over the lake was fun city. Hwy 12 W. was backed up for miles. 59 N. wasn't too bad till you got to Hwy 49 N. at Hattiesburg. The slow lane on 59 was backed up a couple miles from people trying to get on 49.

I'm Hauling Butt!

Ivan was enough..(I live in Mobile Alabama)..I am hauling butt saturday night to north of montgomery (and the only hotel reservation I could find in three states).....Will start heading back monday night when the storm starts to clear.

Am slapping up the window plywood, got a car full of wife/daughter...five cats....lots of guns and ammo...and am ready to roll!...yes...I am re-using last years plywood that has the message "we shoot looters" again!

At least gunsandfun.com and my other sites are all on midwestern servers so I can let em roll on auto-pilot!

See ya when the power comes back....
Bob

Big Dog, and I am supposed to move to Florida because...? I hope Dennis weakens quick and just givs you some rain. I am in Tennesee right now, and sitting in the lobby of the hotel, The night manager is taking alot of calls from people down south asking about room reservations. Good luck to all of you in the path.

Thumbs down

Here in Tampa we are supposed to get some squalls and a lot of rain. When a hurricane enters the gulf it has to get out somewhere and I truely hope you guys up around the western end of the panhandle and Louisiana don't get it too bad, this could be a real nasty one!
