Abu Dhabi TV reported that a suicide bomber detonated his bomb at US soldiers who were distributing chocolate and candy to children to keep them around. A woman in the report said that she heard the soldiers telling children, "Come on, come on," to give them more chocolate in order to keep them around.

A suicide car bomber blew up his vehicle in a crowd of mostly children near U.S. troops in Baghdad on Wednesday, killing 27 people and wounding at least 67, an Interior Ministry spokesman said.
A duty policeman at Kindi Hospital said 25 bodies and 25 wounded had arrived there: "Most of them are children."
One U.S. soldier was among those killed, and three were among the injured, U.S. forces said.
Battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Farrell told Reuters his men had cordoned off an area of houses near a highway for security sweeps when the bomber drove up a side alley. The bomber failed to pierce the military cordon and detonated his vehicle in a crowd of children and adults nearby.
"The scene was almost indescribable," he said. "People nearest the blast, some were literally obliterated on the scene. Multiple lacerations and traumatic amputations. At least nine people I saw were killed instantly in a most horrific fashion."
Sergeant Major Dan Huell said he was knocked to the ground.
"I jumped back up and ran to the blast site. Then you see all the screaming, hollering, injuries," he told Reuters. "The soldiers performed well ... The few that we could evacuate -- soldiers pulled them up, hand-carried a few of them. Little kids. Hand-carried into our vehicles. We got them treated."
A Reuters reporter at Kindi hospital saw at least a dozen coffins loaded into cars at the morgue.
"My son was lucky -- he was injured by a piece of shrapnel that lodged in his head. All the rest of his friends died," said Abu Mohammed, a gray bearded man in white robes.
A Reuters Television cameraman at the scene said the vehicle blew up near houses, reducing three to rubble. Women in the street screamed in anger and sorrow near pools of blood.
The incident was similar to a triple car bomb attack near an American convoy in September last year in which 41 people were killed, 34 of them children.

first hard to depot Iraqie people from Iraq....guess we could...but MAINLY this post is about homacide boombers killing children in THEIR own country....we all have diffrent views.....freedom of speach and all. I personaly view the actions of terrorist like these to be the same as zelots killing abortion doctors....white surprimasist burning black churches..Killing in the Name of God (or what ever your religion calls the surpream being) is Flat out wrong...and also is not in keeping with any of the religions Ive studied...I belive that Terrorist do more damage to the RELIGION they claim to repersent.
People can get weird. I welded in Colorado one year, and most folks there were wonderful. But it was an area where everyone knew everyone, and every time I turned around some jerk in a bar would decide he was gonna look big by taking on that "California-Hippie-Flowerchild." It didn't help any that I was only about 130 lbs back then. The last time one tried it I broke his nose with my beer mug, kneed him, and kicked his head half-off his shoulders. Then I used a barstool to keep his friends off me long enough to get out the door. After that, I started taking six-packs home instead of dropping for for a cool one.
My brother's in-laws moved back to Cordell, Oklahoma after having lived in Kingman, Arizona for a while. Unfortunately it was during Timothy McVeigh's trial for bombing the Federal Building in Oklahoma City, and he had also lived in Kingman. So the locals called the street corner they lived on "McVeigh Corner." They beat up their kids, threw rocks thru their windows, keyed their cars, etc.

i read your post in the context of the thread it's posted in and wonder what you are sniveling about. your ancesters didn't allow me to do anything. They were probably my boot lickers, in another life. As cowardly and wimpish as you seem since you don't want to tackel the problems with real, but, I grant you, unpopular decisions, it's hard for me to imagine you any other way. Your suggestions aren't 'a bit harsh and heavy-handed'; they're composed of equal parts stupidity and hatred. It would make about as much sense to advocate running all the white Christians out of this country and back to Europe, where they came from, because Timothy McVeigh set off a bomb. Or we could go back to being like the street toughs who used to stomp dachshunds to death in front of their horrified owners during WWI, simply because we were at war with Germany.
And no, I won't 'just ignore' your posts; I will respond any time I happen to read one. I believe in meeting evil head-on, not ignoring it. And what you're preaching is evil.
By the way, I also believe I had ancestors on one side or the other of every significant Indian war this country ever had, and both sides of several. Don't think any of them, White or Indian, were renowned bootlickers. In fact, in that 'other life' you mention, your mouth would probably have gotten you killed in a hurry. Lucky for you that you're alive today instead, when people generally don't bother.

Hey rufus I have a question in response to another thread that you posted on that is locked. You said something about rounding up ALL muslims since a few are the ones causing the terrorism:
Would you suggest we round up all middle age white guys since a few are doing all the child molesting, or all the gunowners since a few are doing all the killing?

Sometimes we all go off the deep end. Too many different personalities, too many religious differences. etc. We're bound to tie up with each other from time to time. Try not to take everything personally. Don't sweat the petty things, just pet the sweaty things.

We're on a learning curve just like they are, and it's getting harder for them to hit us successfully. So they're going after 'soft' targets instead, and hoping that people will get sick of the bloodshed and start blaming the American presence for it. There's a good chance it'll backfire on them; I've read a poll in the last few days that shows worldwide Muslim public opinion of Osama Bin Laden and Al Queda dropping, instead of rising.
But they may also be deliberately trying to start a religious civil war. The Sunni are a minority in Iaq, but they're a huge majority in most of the Muslim world. The local Sunni insurgents may figure that if they can provoke the Shi'ites into attacking the general Sunni population in retaliation, the rest of the Muslim world will help the Sunni, and they can return to power.
I would also bet that the vast majority of the fighters and suicide bombers from outside the country are Wahabi. The Wahabi, centered in Saudi Arabia, are the fundamentalist, extreme right end of the Sunni religion; they hate apostate Muslims worse than they do infidels, and they definitely consider the Shi'ites to be apostate. Typical of their beliefs is an interview with a young man outside a madrasa that I read shortly after 9/11: when asked if killing Muslims in the Trade Center had been justified, he replied, "if they were good Muslims they're with Allah as holy martyrs, and if they were bad Muslims they're in !!!! where they belong."
I do believe that in the long run the Muslim religion as a whole will have to start policing its own, and cleaning its own house, or we will slowly slide into a worldwide religious war.
Sounds somewhat like the same tactics used in VN near the end,children in a village would receive vaccinations and after the trops left the VC would come into the village and cut off any vaccinated arm,ghastly!
