Any advice on Olympic AR15 (thought, suggestions?)

Hi I'm now in the maket for my first privately owned AR15 model. I am not loaded with cash and I am almost convinced that I will buy a new Olympic Arms AR-15 made in Tumwater WA. My local dealer I think buys the components seperately then puts them together. Not to sure on that. Is this normal? If he does what kind of things should I look out for? Is Olympic a reputable manufacturer? My use will be target shooting and not (probably) holding off the evil huns. Thanks for any reply.

Olympic sells both complete rifles and kits. There should be no misunderstanding with your dealer on whether you're buying a factory built or his build. Warrantees will probably be different.

I've got a preban Olympic CAR, great piece, if I was going to build an AR, which I'm thinking about, I'll probably start with a Rock River lower, I know a guy who shoots CMP match with one and swears by it. Either way you can't go wrong, both are great lowers, buy a lower, a lower parts kit, punch set, and drill a hole in your hockey puck and build it yourself. You'll appreciate it more and there's plenty of good advice from your friends here. There's not much to it, and you'll love it.
