Trekkies lose another crew member.

http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/TV/0....ap/index.html

James Doohan, "Scotty", dead.
I hadn't realized he had such a notable military service - landed at Juno Beach on D-day!
RIP, Scotty!

So long Scotty! Too bad, the real Star Trek team was so cool.

Risking a bad pun , but meant with great respect, it appears that God has beamed up Scotty.

I was saddened by this, not because I am a trekkie (I am not) but because this was an honest to god man who spoke the way he saw things.

He survived D-day....including taking SEVERAL machine guns hits (He was missing a finger from this all through his acting carrer.)

And when asked recently about bill shatner..he said " I loved his acting , but the man was an idiot. So wrapped up in himself, nobody could get along with him"

Atta boy scotty...rest in peace buddy!

I salute him as well. A great man and a great actor. I was glad that the normally liberal pacifistic Star Trek folks made important note of his WWII service when discussing his biography. He has in recent years been diagnosed with Alzheimers and his passing now probably saved him a lot of pain.

I think it's in the best of humor to say that God has beamed up Scotty.
