I've never had one not go "bang" when I pulled the trigger. My 91/30 shoots pretty tight groups with it. It's cheap and easily available.
On the down side: it's steelcore, which means it can start fires in dry areas (anyone who doesn't believe that should try shooting a granite boulder about dusk; it'll look like a roman candle), and it'll probably punch straight thru a deer instead of spreading and knocking him down. Also many gun ranges ban steelcore.
It's filthy; an afternoon of shooting it leaves a crust around the muzzle of my gun. It's almost certainly corrosive, but that shouldn't matter if you clean your piece each and every time you shoot it.
The lacquered steel cases tend to stick on extraction, giving rise to that well-known dance step, "the Mosin Kick." That's where you lift the bolt and yank on it a few times, then plant the butt firmly and kick the living !@#$ out of the bolt handle. Polishing your chamber takes care of the problem for a lot of people, and lessens it for others. I polished mine, and the stuff will still start sticking toward the end of the session.
That said, if I found a super deal I'd probably grab some, and stash it for the rainy season when I won't set the hills on fire. Your call, depending on how and where you're gonna use it.
