Antique table?

Wife was asking.
She has a 3 legged round top Mersman table with an apparent stamped S/N of 5372 on the botton, in fair condition. She was wondering if it qualifies as an antique and how much it was worth. Any input from the antique guru's out there?

Go to ncfurnitureonline.com-they have a page where you can ask questions and they have carried Mersman furniture- Hopefully that link will help you. Mersman Tables was founded by J.B. Mersman around 1876 in Ottoville,OH. At the turn of the century, the city of Celina, OH asked Mr. Mersman to set up a furniture factory in Celina. In 1927 the company became known as Mersman Brothers Corporation. In 1963, the company was acquired by Congoleum Industries. After a series of other owners, the Mersman Factory was closed in 1990. You'd have to have the furniture appraised by antiques dealer for value.

Here's a link to E-Bay's showing Mersman tables for sale.
This might get you in the ballpark of what your table's worth.

I'm impressed by how the bunch on this forum can come up with an intelligent answer to almost anything that gets asked, or at least point the questioner in the right direction.

People have a wide variety of interests other than guns. Put enough of them together and there's not much you can't find somebody that knows something about it.

Wink

I've found that the "Search" function on the internet can find just about anything...if the correct words are used in the search. Don't always get the exact answer but it sure beats looking in an encyclopedia. :right:

Got that right. But it helps in your search if you know a lil something about it to start with.
