Opinions on the Baby Desert Eagle 9mm

So what is everyones opinion on the Baby Desert Eagle 9mm. I went shooting this weekend and one of the guys I was with rented one. Of course everyone wanted to try it out and I can say I fell in love with it as soon as I picked up the gun. And shooting it didn't disappoint. It shot a million times better than my 9mm.

Anyway, I have been in the market for a replacement for my Hi-Point 9mm, and the range I shoot at was selling them used for $419. Sound like a good deal? I know I am going to check around at a few other shops to see if anyone has a lower price.

Ditto... I have heard nothing but good things about the Baby Eagle, Jehrico pistols.

The last auction has a Baby Eagle with a frame mounted safety like a CZ 75.

I have a steel framed version and I love it! It's a joy to shoot and extremely accurate and I haven't shot any thing better for anywhere near the price.

Good gun but way too heavy for a 9mm IMO. That probably contributes to the accuracy and comfort though.

I'd have to agree with toolman on this one, it's a good gun but there seem to be a lot of 9mm pistols out there that make more sense than the baby eagle, design-wise.

i would have to dissagree with that simply because its based off of one of the most copied handgun designs ever the CZ75, and well i dunno i have one and love it pickd it up for 350.00

my buddy has a baby eagle .45 and he was looking into purchasing one with a tactical rail. however, he was going into how there are "fake" copies out there and the key is to look for the isreal stamp and this dudes name. can anyone straighten me out on this?

yeah, it will be stamped IMI in the grip or IWI, both have the isralie crest,
one stands for Isralie Military Industries, the other is Isralie Weapons Industries,
it also has marks on the Slide, and will say made in Israel.
as for somones name, i do not think so.
here is a pic of the grip.

excellent thank you, i was planning on buying my roomie a gun for his 21st b-day and was going to get him a .22 however I think that instead I may buy twin baby 9mm's one for me and one for him to celebrate if i get a job im applying for, any opinions? I know .22 ammo is cheap, I already own a 9mm and i like the price of ammo however im not too fond of buying .45 or .40 ammo when i do shoot those.....as far as versitility goes, 3rd party acessories ect..how would the baby eagle fair against a .22 such as the p22?

well, when i was going to get my handgun i looked into the p22 and sig mosquito, i liked the feel of both but the review of neither, again back to the zinc, the walther has a zinc slide as well. thats a little known fact but true, i checked with walther and after hearing nothing but bad things about the mosquito i bought the baby deagle when i stumbled upon it at a pawn shop while looking at a ruger p95DC.
as far as accessories im not to familiar i have only had mine for 2 weeks. so....
