Question Who else would love to see a new Savage/Steven in 7.62x39?

Yes all of us enjoy blasting away with our beloved SKS's and AK's, but I am happy to see a few manufactors making bolt action and single shot rifles chambered for the 7.62x39 round. CZ, H&R, Rossi, and I am sure I am missing one more lately that has chambered for the 30cal round we love to plink away with.
I believe that now it would be an awesome move if Savage or under the Stevens name released an inexpensive bolt action rifle-ie Stevens 200 short action- to shoot our inexpensive round.
So what do you think?

I think you're definitely on to something there. Might be worth a letter?

I believe that the new Russian American Armory that will be importing Saigas also has bolt guns in X39 on the agenda. Depending on how they're priced, they might also make a big difference in the market.

BRG3, I did a search for Russian American Armory, and came up short. Are you refering to European American Armory? They used to import Russian rifles, but earlier this year Remington has took over importing them under the Spartan banner, you probably already knew that though. But I did't see any bolt actions....though some of the sweetest 22's I have ever seen-straight out of the Biathalon:right:
A letter might be an idea......perhaps I can stur up enough noise on the net to get a look>? :cheer:............I'm going to need some help I think..

Oh yeah, this isn't S-12.com, where the RAA talk has been circulated a zillion times...

European American Armory I believe is no longer carrying any Russian guns. Most of what they offer now is just handguns.

RAA is the upcoming importer of the Saiga rifles and shotguns. These are from the Ishmash plant, where the original AK came from.

What Remington picked up and now labels Spartan was the Baikal line, also from Russia, but from a different factory. That line is of break open rifles and shotguns, as well as pump and auto shotguns (if they've taken up the whole Baikal line).

Cool, I didn't know that about RAA.
Yeah and from what I hear about them, some of the old school Remington fans are pissed about them importing Russian rifles.

Anyone else with me here?
I mean what a great cartridge for a young shooter to hunt with. I didn't think of it untill late. Hopefully we will see more options here with the 7.62x39:right:
