I have two Lexmarks from Wally World. Paid about $70 each. They use the same cartridges. Near $40 for the color, and $27 for the Black. Yep, I got the F'in printers for free! Sure wish the carts had more ink. Taking it easy, I buy new ones every other month. Wally doesn't carry refill kits for the LM printers though, only the HP's and Canons.

I just realized, if I want to print photos, it was really uneconomical to buy my own printer. It costs 50C for one piece of paper, plus the ink, whatever that comes to per sheet. I pay $70 for the replacement kit for my i950 (6-pack). Costo (if you have that warehouse shopping center in your area) was only charging 17C per photo. Might check into a Target or Walmart, etc. photo service |

Just a word to the wise... The cartriges for printers you get with the new printer usually has less ink by about a third.

Refill kits that actually work are around $20.00 for color, and include enough ink to refill the carts 5 or 6 times, so you can figure those $35.00 new cartridges are making the printer mfg. about a 1,000% profit margin. Also, BEWARE the sneaky guys at Epson. They have the best printers for the money, but the carts all have smartchips in them that shut down after you run out the "complete" amount of ink they came with, and won't let you use them again. I had to spend another $10.00 to get a smartchip reprogrammer gadget to reset the !!!!ed meter on my set of 4 eppie cartridges. Of course after all that, the refill kits brought the renew price down to about a buck a throw. Just takes a little time to beat the S.O.B.s at their own game............. :gangster:

Some cartridges just won't work with refills.
