So you guys have decided that any time a conservative sucks up to the military he's doing it because he loves them, and any time a liberal tries to do them any good it's because he's cynically using them. How can I argue with that kind of 'reasoning'?

And toolman: "Our" political policies?!? any time you think you're grown-up enough to try it, you just haul your sorry butt on over, and try to run me out of my own country. Pack a lunch; you'll be busy for a while.

Last time I checked, this country wasn't a dictatorship yet...

Troy, when I said "our policies" I meant American policies, I assume you still consider yourself a U.S. citizen? I also never said anything about running anyone anywhere, but there have been several whiney-a**ed liberals who've fled the U.S. after not being able to face the horror of living with a duly elected conservative president. I respect your right to disagree with him, but I am sick of the lack of respect he is being shown. I hated Clinton's guts but I still think he should've been treated with the respect the office deserves. As far as the war,I personally think we should invade EVERY country that teaches their children to hate and kill Americans. I apologize if I've offended anyone else, I spent a good part of yesterday listening to all of the liberal talking heads bash the war, hurricane response, gas prices, and anything else they could pin on the Bush admin. and am a little testy right now. I'm not going to get into a "Radio Rambo" whizzing match with ya Troy, but I'm not going to wet myself in fear because you didn't like my post.

I just get (bleep)ing tired of people inviting me to leave the country because I don't agree with them politically.

How about we chalk up the last couple of posts to having had bad days, and get back to being civilized to one another? Within reason, of course...if I get TOO polite, no one will believe it's me.

My-oh-my!! I posted this because I liked Glen's comments. I didn't think I'd find you two standing in the field back to back, waiting for the instructions to: "each take ten paces, turn and fire"!!

Works for me Troy, I tend to get a tad overwrought at times. BTW, I reread some of the earlier posts and noticed that you served in Viet Nam, thank you. I've had family in just about every war this country has fought up until the Gulf war, so I respect anyone who has worn the uniform.

Comparing it to the "city of Detroit" is VERY misleading...why?

Because the city of Detroit itself is VERY..VERY small compared to the Detroit METRO area. That metro area (My former home) stretches 60 x 60 miles, yet the city of Detroit is only a small part of the city, with a pretty small populace and lots of old industry and bare spots where industry used to be.

Most of the population lives outside the city limits in adjoining citys..look at a michigan map and you will see what I mean.

Ruger, with all respect, the actual city of Detroit is a dam*ed serious place no matter its' size. The last company that I drove for used to instruct us to park with our trailers less than 12" from the one behind us because we'd had several hundred thousand $$$ of theft happen while our guys were asleep in the truck! BTW, the comparison was for one city VS a whole country!
