A young New York woman, very depressed and looking to end her misery, was standing on the Brooklyn Bridge contemplating jumping.
A man came by and saw her and asked why she wanted to end her life at such a young age. She told him her problems and why she wanted to die. He told her that she was still young and there was so much to see in the world. “Have you ever been to Europe?” he asked her. “No,” she replied, “I’ve never been out of New York.”
“Well,” he said, “I’m a sailor and if you come with me to the pier, I’ll sneak you on board ship and take you to Europe. There’s so much to see there, you’ll love it.” The young woman agreed, and went with him to the pier where he took her on board ship and hid her in a lifeboat. Everyday he would bring her food and water and at night he would take her out of the lifeboat to go to the head, and sneak her back to the lifeboat where he would have sex with her.
One day the Captain was walking on deck and noticed that the cover on the lifeboat wasn’t properly secured and while tying it he found the young woman. “Come out of there!” he demanded. She climbed out of the lifeboat. “What are you doing in there!” he demanded.
The young woman started crying, “One of your sailors found me and brought me aboard, he hid me in here.” She told the captain. “What else!” The Captain wanted to know.
She told him, “He said he would take me to Europe.”
The Captain asked, “What else?”
“He brings me food and sneaks me out to go to the head every night.” She told him.
“How long have you been in there?” The Captain asked.
“Six days.” She told him.
“What else?” The Captain wanted to know.
“He’s been screwing me!”
“You got that right!” The Captain told her, “This is the Staten Island Ferry!”
