Build your own Dragunov?

Ok, I really, REALLY want one of these rifles. I know Centerfiresystems.com has the Dragunov receivers for $180(Receivers have rear trunnion trigger guard, side rail mount and internal rails installed. Original Romanian MFG.). But how hard would it be to build the rest? I know it might take some time getting all the parts together, but has anyone given this much thought?

Edit... I was looking at floridagunworks.com and they have the Romak 3 parts kit("7.62x54 cal. These Parts Kits are Romanian Military ""Romak 3"" Dragunov Parts Kits. 7.62x54R Complete Replacement Parts & Original Bayonet included. Barrel has the bayonet lug. This is the first time the kits are offered in the United States. These are hard to get spare parts for your Romak. While suplies last. New condition.") for $400, so I know now they can be found. Are the parts kit everything you need minus the receiver?

Ok, important point that I tire of saying and it's all these stupid importers and wholesaler's faults - the Romak III is NOT a Dragunov! There is NO Romanian Dragunov! The Romak III is based on the RPK (AK LMG) design and is a good rifle, but it is not a Dragunov!

Ok, that said, yes these are all the parts necessary, but it's not easy to just throw together. You will need to press and pin the barrel, including setting headspace, and either rivet or thread and screw the trunions onto the receiver. This can be an enjoyable and rewarding experience but it's not particularly easy. SOG has advertised these without scope for $500. Even as someone who likes to build AKs, this is a better deal.

I'm sorry, I know the Romak isn't an actual Dragunuv, don't know why I said it.

Don't worry..BRG3 is getting kinda anal lately on correctly identifying guns...

I'm thinking about selling 3 of my guns to get a Romanian Dragunov TYPE rifle myself...

Held one a couple weeks ago at a gunstore out by my Sportsmans club...

My beef on the Romak being called the Dragunov is that now even the importers and distributors are marking it Dragunov just so they can falsely advertise it as a Dragunov. PSL, FPK, Romak III, or some STG designation would all be fine names for a fine rifle. Instead, they make people think this is a rare deal on a rifle that generally goes for $2000ish when $600-800 is a fair price for one of these.

I have read that it should only be used with the lighter variety of bullets, at pain of damage to the rifle. But they can be pretty accurate with them. :right:
