Unhappy Not a good week

This past week has been one of the worst in recent memory.
First, my mom went into the hospital for some minor surgery. They put a stint in the aorta and one in her leg. Pretty simple stuff but something went terribly wrong when they went into the other leg. Her blood pressure dropped to almost zero and she was bleeding internally into the abdomen. It was a close call but she made it. She is now recuperating.

This morning was probably THE most shocking, tragic thing that has ever happened. Its hard to even put into words.

I got a phone call at about 7:30 this morning. I wont use names as they havent been released yet but my neices husbands parents were found dead.
These were some darn good people. Everybody liked them. They were the kind of people you would be proud to have as a neighbor. The father and son had the greatest relationship and did a lot together.

Apparently, for some unknown reason, the wife shot her husband and then herself. This was so unlike her. Thats why we are all so shocked.

Hard to imagine how many lives were affected by this. The new grandbaby wont have grandparents. They were his babysitter. My neice and husband will probably have to be sedated and hospitalized from the shock of this. Maybe nobody will ever know the reason, but these were some darn good people. I'm still having trouble realizing that this happened and they are gone forever. Dammit.

There's not much I can say, except that maybe there were reasons which made sense to them, or at least to her. The fact that we're also feeling a little of your pain doesn't lessen what you and the others are going through, but you have our moral support anyway.

And good luck to your mother.

I can feel your hurt, Snakebite. I'm sorry that you and your family have to go through this senseless tragedy, but I'm also glad that your mother seems to be recouperating from the stint operation.

I want to thank all of you for the prayers and support.
I will admit I wasnt thinking too clearly yesterday from the shock when I wrote this.
Much more has come to surface after the police investigation.
Still doesnt change the outcome.
I have a very hard time picturing John getting shot twice and it was probably in the back when he wasnt looking and was unaware.
Some things arent always as they appear. The wife had written a suicide note. She had planned it so in my book, its premeditated murder. Cant do a thing to a dead person.
I don't know if I can forgive her for what she did. It wont do me any darn good to hold a grudge though. Sort of a catch 22. She was nice, John was a great guy.
Maybe one of lifes hard lessons and I'm being tested.
Anyway, time to move forward. The hard part is just beginning with cleaning the house, funerals, etc.
Again, thanks for the kind words. It really does help.
