Thumbs down here we go again

http://edition.cnn.com/2005/LAW/11/1...ain/index.html

apparently the perps father owned a lot of firearms. Now just wait until the libs start going after collectors again. What in the #%#@ does it have anything to do with the case ? How does the fact that the guys father had 54 or 100 or 10000 guns have to do with anything ?

Ever heard something like "Guy runs over bunch of people. His father owned 20 big bad cars".

for the life of me i will never understand why they dont just say..."ok,from this moment on,any violent crime committed with a firearm carrys an automatic death penalty WITH NO APPEALS" these punks now a days arent afraid of prison. this is a sad story but im with yall, what his dad owns should have no bearing on the case, nor should it even be reported in the media.his dad didnt shoot anyone for christs sake!

Thumbs down

I agree with you guys on this, but I'm sitting here thinking about how many times I've read that some adult did this or that great thing...or bad thing... so therefore his son or daughter should automatically be like this according to the press.

Hey...the news media likes to make stories into more than they are just to sell their products.

What is worse is that in this case, the guy's father didn't do a thing. I can sort of understand if they'd said something like: "the kid is a killer...oh, btw his dad was too" although that is irrelevant too...

The kid grew up in a houseful of guns so he has to turn into a criminal according to them right ?

I can understand if there is some evidence to suggest that the guys father did not store his firearms safely or didnt instruct his kids right, but they are harping on how he had guns and thats it. Also, the kid hunts and disembowels deer so that automatically makes him a bloodthirsty criminal.

Dunno how it's playing in the rest of the country, but out here no one here has been playing up the Dad's guns at all, at least on radio stations or in the newspapers. The deer picture and the guns got mentioned in passing toward the end of one article in the Los Angeles Times, but they didn't make any big deal about it.

Can't speak for TV; I don't watch it.
