Todays Deer hunt, PIC

0700 this morning. Nice fat corn fed doe (can't eat antlers ) She came in at the bottom of the hill we were on, slightly quartered starting up hill. Winchester 1oz 12ga slug went in above the front shoulder & broke the spine. Used iron sights on the gun. not far enough for scope (40~45 yards)

My son hit another with his 20ga. she ran to the other property where she was promptly shot. Were going back this evening. I'm glad this was a spine shot.

Nice deer. Those spine shots tend to anchor them, too.

I decided before this years season I was gonna hold out for a buck. Doe #9 was dropped! Like you said you can't eat the horns!!
