If I could find one in good shape that I could afford, yes.

I would, well if it was a revolver I would. But I have no doubts about its quality. From what I hear they're awesome guns for the money.

I've shot my buddy's on several occasions. If I stumbled on a deal like he did, I probably would. Its not something I'm actively seeking out to buy though.

It's my primary carry gun. I like revolvers for fun, but for carry I favor my MAK.

You can do a lot worse for more money. I've got 6 of them and would not hesitate to use any one of them if needed. One of my favorite handguns is my Bulgarian Makarov I had some work done on by Teddy Jacobsen. It looks great and shoots even better. All of this coming from a dyed-in-the-wool, hard-nosed .357 magnum fan....

Had one. Sold it. It was alright, but wanted something else.

When my dad worked for the SPD(sacramento police department), he could get darn near anything to misfire by holding it loose, or getting it dirty, but he tried to get a makorov to misfire, as a demonstration, but it fired everytime. I would recomend it over a .45, sig, you name it.

They are still dirt cheap today. For the quality, you should eat it up :gangster:

I have a East German Makorov and it's a good shooter. The ammo is cheap and you can beat the crap out of them and they still work.

Well, as you may know, the trigger guard is pulled down to remove the slide.
I have had a grip in such a way as to have my left hand wrapped around the fingers of my right hand.
When the gun fired and went into recoil and cycling stage the grip pulled the trigger guard down and the receiver launched off the frame.
It goes back together OK and you just keep shooting until it, hopefully not, happens again.
LOL
