French'es beat the Springboks today!! I think I feel a heart-attack comming on and if I dont have one. Someone know a really effective way of killing your self?

I've seen a few matches, your right it's one heck of a tough game. It's rougher than American style football, I'm suprised it never caught on over here.

Didn't even know the French played Rugby; I thought soccer was their game. One of my little brothers trained with the French army years ago. He said that as a group they had the strongest legs and stamina, and the weakest upper body strength, of anyone he'd run into. |

Well they play Rugby and are usualy in the top 7 teams but cant remember when was the last time they beat us. I's a disgrace and a sad day for SA football. Dallas your football evolved out of our's I think. probably some pommy who brought it over to the US. The game is picking up in Western Canada but it's not pro here yet. I spoke to a guy who played in the US and he told me that in a couple of years the US will be very good, this guy was a scrum-half and they are usually short guys he is over 6 feet tall and he said he never played against a shorter guy than himself in the US!

hey bulletproof, we may not hit as hard, but we don't wear 4 inches of padding either, or helmets, or lycra, and we don't need two teams each to play the game!

There is a local Rugby club where I use to live, They scrummed, if that's the right word every Saturday in the park in the Fall. shorts and a Jersey and cleats and taped ears and they had at each other. No pads, a rough game.

Why is the "edit" function geschmussen? Johan what position did you play? I used to be a flank, 8th man and hooker. Sure, you can see from my positions that I'm only 5' 7"

Bo ran over Bosworth in '87 By Ron Flatter Special to ESPN.com Nov. 30, 1987 - A month into his "hobby" as a professional football player, Los Angeles Raider running back Bo Jackson had a ball on his 25th birthday. In one of the most scintillating performance ever on "Monday Night Football," Jackson, who says his main job is as an outfielder for the Kansas City Royals, set a Raiders record by running for 221 yards and scoring three touchdowns in a 37-14 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Jackson led off the Raiders' 20-point second quarter by scoring on a 14-yard run when safety Kenny Easley fell down attempting to tackle him. Later in the period, Jackson swerved around left end and set a Raiders record for longest run from scrimmage by racing 91 yards for a touchdown. Unable to stop his 225-pound frame in the end zone, he continued right into the locker room tunnel in the Kingdome. Bo's third touchdown came in the third quarter when he literally ran over linebacker Brian Bosworth on a two-yard burst on one of his 18 carries. After Jackson's impressive game, Seahawks wide receiver Steve Largent said, "I think he should stick to baseball." | |

I plyed Flank and fullback for some time, even played lock once and I'm only 5'10"!! But had to quit in std 10 because of a back problem. Oh you remember Uli Schmidt!! The son of the original Blou bul!! Uli would kick any Footballer's ASSe !!! So would OS Du Randt and James "Bullet" Dalton. I miss Ruggas and might even try out for the Saskatoon team come spring. Depends on how the old back holds up. |
