Ok, please show me where the representative from the 88th District to the State House of Representives in Ohio has opposed the representive from the 12th district of Pennsylvania to the United States House of Representives.

However, according to you, "he was pissed that Murtha has made "Surrender and Retreat" his slogan for the past 2 years."

Now, explain to me how he could be pissed about what Murtha has done for two years without knowing his name, or even that he'd been a marine?

On second thought, please don't explain. Much more of your convoluted logic and name-calling and I'll have a headache. I"m going to go read something besides your posts, instead.

One more clip before I pack up and leave the range

Little "Mean Jean" Schmidt got up on the the floor in her precious red, white and blue costume with the cute little stars on it, and broke every rule of decorum and decency the House has established in the last two hundred years. When she very properly got her chops busted for it, she gave this fantasy statement:

STATEMENT FROM CONGRESSWOMAN JEAN SCHMIDT Washington, DC -
"Last week as I returned to the Capitol Building after attending a funeral at Arlington National Cemetery for a local fallen Marine, I found out that the Democrats had just announced their policy position to immediately withdraw troops from Iraq."

Reality: Murtha was NOT announcing any "policy position" decided on by the Democratic party, nor does he speak for it. He was offering his own resolution.

"My good friend Representative Bubp called me to discuss this plan during the House debate on the issue of immediately removing troops from Iraq.
I relayed our conversation with Representative Bubp on the House Floor."

Reality: He has flatly denied making the statements she attributed to him.

"I never meant to attack Congressman Murtha personally."

Reality: Anyone who believes that still believes in the tooth fairy.

And while we're at it, here's one of your quotes: 'Lugar, Senator Lugar's report in June said, "OK, 80 percent of the Iraqi people support us. They support the liberation." '

Reality: The only major poll I'm aware of was done by an intelligence arm of the British government. According to it, 80% of the Iraqis want us to leave, and 45% think shooting at American troops is justified. Those figures have been out for a while now, and no one in the Bush Administration has even mentioned them, much less tried to discredit them.

I don't know whether to support Murtha's plan or not. I think we're boxed in to the point that anything we do, whether it involves staying or going, is liable to suck big-time. We're probably faced with trying to pick the least of several evils.

But it's time the chickenhawk amateurs started listening to some of the professional military men for a change. If Bush were doing his job, he'd invite Murtha for lunch, and listen to him. Then he'd invite a few of the generals who were forced into retirement for offering honest opinions. And he'd actually talk to some of the commanders in the field, and some of the white-haired old guard who've fought successfully in the past.

I'm not sure I'd agree with whatever he decided to do after listening to their input, but at least it would be a somewhat reality-based decision, and might actually stand a chance of working.

Some of the things he's said in his last couple of speeches give me a faint hope that the Administration might finally have realized that if doing something wrong isn't working, doing more of the same might not work either and it might be time to modify the plan.

Despite all your nonsense about patriotism, treason and cowardice, those are my younger brothers-in-arms out there, and the children of my friends and neighbors. I don't like to see them dying or being maimed. I like it even less when I get the impression they may be dying needlessly, because our leaders are too proud and stubborn to modify strategies and tactics that aren't working. Blindly "staying the course" isn't a plan; it's a bad habit.

Son, all you apparently care about is trying to establish that you "won" somehow, rather than actually discussing the issue.

Personally, I don't see where you established anything except that you're a dick. But if you want to flap around and cockadoodle-do, knock yourself out. Simple amusements for simple minds, I guess.
