Like I said earlier, Dale, it's only a game and I knew you were hurting so I intend to gladly drop the subject. Haven't even had time to read the sports page today because my wife and I are busy enjoying keeping our two grandkids ages 3 and 4, today, as we do every Monday.
And yes, remembering the good times with you Dad should take a high priority. Best to you and your family as you lay your father to rest.

Sure am sorry to hear about your dad, Dale. And, you're right about never really being ready when it happens. Just take it minute-by-minute and things will work out. They won't go back to normal, but they'll get close.

Condolences, Dale. My Dad's pushing eighty, and seems to be immortal. Your post is a good reminder not to take him for granted.

My mother died a couple of years ago, and I'm probably one of the few around who can say he took it in stride. But that's because she had been gone for months, with her body left behind on life support because my father couldn't bring himself to have them pull the plug. My reaction to the news was, "Oh. It's official now. Okay..." I think in some situations, relief is a reasonable and acceptable part of the mix.
