If you live in NJ, now is the time to put in for your pistol permits (which can take anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months), apply for your Firearms Puchaser ID, and make those purchases you may have been putting off. Especially anything that liberals have a tendency to label "assault" or "high powered" or "high capacity" The election last month of John Corzine spells big trouble for already law weary NJ gun owners. Lord only knows what will happen in the next couple of years, and I for one am getting my #$&! together now. One of the reasons I have posted so many "what would you buy" type posts is I'm looking to make infromed decisions. I want to make sure what I buy in the next year or so will be "keepers". Just a heads-up for those who may be in Jersey and not realize there is a dark cloud on the horizon (well, darker...since there's been one over us for a long time.)

Leaving this police state is the long term plan. Various attachments make it impossible to cut and run quickly. Plus, my immediate family (siblings, parents) live in Southern California, which would be like jumping from the frying pan into the fire. So anywhere I go will require more planning then if I could go live with the folks or something.

Will it last in PA, though BRG3...alot of folks seem to think the entire east coast will eventually fall to the liberals and any liberty minded person should look west (just not too far west). I don't know, I'm just repeating what I've heard.

Looking farther west is not a horrible idea, but PA has a very strong gun culture and I don't think it's going anywhere. Our liberal governor Rendell is known as "one term Eddie". He's not going to last, and democrats in this state know that they will go nowhere if they go far left on constitutional rights. The most recent gun related laws to be passed in the state were to protect the rights of citizens against abuses by local governments by making gun laws and carry permits uniform throughout the state.
