All of the scenes mentioned are good one, but one of my favorite it the scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark, where the sword wielding dude faces Harrison Ford and he takes out his pistol and shoots him.

One of my favorites is the slow-motion gunfight during the Northfield Bank Robbery in "The Long Riders" - the story of the James and Younger gang. Citizens protecting their town against thugs, and it shows the confusion that reigns during a big shootout. The hits on 'the boys' look realistic, without being over-done. Not quite a 'gunfight' as such, but I really like the scene in "Kelly's Heroes", where the three GIs face-off against the Tiger tank, inform the German as to the nature of the bank's contents - then "Boom!" Down go the bank doors!

What was interesting where the cirumstances, Spielburg later explained that Harrison, was just plain worn out. the swordsman had practiced for several days, When they started to shoot the footage harrison just pulled his gun and fired it. Spielburg liked it so much it went in to the movie. but the actor that was the sword fighter was not happy about getting cut out of the movie. still, all these years later it is still funny and also poingiant

There's a similar scene in the movie "Seven" from the seventies - not the more recent movie of the same name. Seven good guys go after seven bad guys, each one using his particular 'specialty'. One good guy is faced with a badguy going thru the usual martial-arts moves - good guy says, "Karate this, M-F!" and blows him away with a handgun.

bank chase in Heat, the end of open range, and I would say the shot out at the OK corral in Tombstone

Doc Holiday's, "I'm your huckleberry" scene when he takes on that dude in place of Wyatt. Awesome.

I like the scene in "Collateral" with Tom Cruise in which he confronts the thugs who robbed his briefcase. He pulls his H&K and quickly makes work of them. Fast and efficient.

The bank shoot out in "Heat". The final shoot out in "Scarface" is a close second. Another tid bit of useless information about "Scarface". The band Blink 182 got their name from how many times Al Pacino said the "F" word in the movie. |
