Hollowed bullets easy to get and hard to survive...

Dude wants to ban HPs and put them souley in the hands of the police.

He Cites an example where a cop had his own gun used on him.

If Hollow points are available on the black market, then how could their sale and trafficking be affected by this ban?

Unhappy

Yet another Liberal gun-grabber trying to exert control by fear-mongering. Same thing the Brady-bunch and the VPC do - make a big deal out of a non-issue.
They act like the HP's are some new 'wonder bullet' that normal people shouldn't have access to. We've had them for how many decades now?

Unhappy

there was a cop who shot and killed a guy on a shooting spree at a big shopping mall in Cobb County, Georgia...it was around 1985-86..the cop used a Beretta 9mm loaded with FMJ bullets..one went through the perp and killed an innocent victim :guitar:

NJ bans the use and carry of JHP's for the private citizen -- hopefully this junk will go away

New Jersey is funny,...you can buy them, take them to the range, but if you carry them in your gun you're screwed. Funny part is, no one but LE can carry in NJ.
I've actually heard the news refer to them as "armor piercing hollow point bullets". Huh? Now there's a contradiction in terms.

I remember an idiot--excuse me; I mean 'one of my fine coworkers'--explaining to someone how a guy had ambushed a cop by faking a domestic disturbance call, and shooting him with a "high-powered" rifle when he arrived.

I felt like slapping him up alongside the head and asking him, "what other kind is there, Doofus?"

Remember the ABC news report where the guy was trying to say the .223 from the semi-auto Bushmaster rifle was more powerful than a .223 from a hunting rifle after the DC sniper?

The whole article is contradictory.
Hollowpoints have better stopping power, so cops use them. But we as citizens shouldn't cause we only want to wound intrudewrs but not actually stop them? Hollowpoints are safer for bystanders, but we shouldn't have them.
Cops are protected from HP by vests, it's FMJ's that'll punch through them. But they don't want anyone to have HP.
I'm confused.

So I missed that fine bit of logic.

I get all the irritation I need from radio, newspapers and the internet.

I got a kick out of the CNN InfoBabe who said the .223 bullet 'spun thru the air, making it deadly', traveled at 5000 feet per second and was accurate to a mile! Dang, where can I find some of these Magic Bullets for my M17S Bushpup!?
Alas, only in her fevered brain . . .

DiFi herself said the new S&W M500 revolver would become the 'choice of gang members' - right, like Homie will carry a four pound five-shot handgun that he can barely lift, let alone actually shoot! (maybe why his pants ride so low . . . ?) But it's that magic 'fifty caliber', so it's gotta be EVIL!

Amazing the drivel that UberLibs can come up with to pull the wool over the Sheeple's eyes. All the better to fleece them with.
