Early testing on .30 Cal/Quiz

Gentlemen,

As you all know ALL MY DATA is

How many of Mr. Garand's Caliber .30 Rifles (Primer Actuated) were built for testing ?

When were they built ?

I'll take a partial stab at this. Twenty-four rifles were ordered in March 1922 and it wasn't until June 8, 1922 that a stock design was settled upon by the Ordnance Dept. When they were built or delivered I do not know.

The answer to the above Quiz is as follows:

March 1925 Manufacture of 24 Rifles Authorized.

Spring 1925 Manufacture of 24 Rifles finished.

Additional data:
Nov. 1922
"Demonstration of pilot model ( produced at Springfield Armory ) at Ft. Benning and Ft. Riley."
