Cool Came across this little ditty.

Thought you guys, and gals, would be a little interested. At least, iIknow BattlerifleG3 will like it.
Canada Defense Minister in UFO Shocker
28-Nov-2005
Paul Hellyer
Former Canadian Defense Minister Paul Hellyer stated flatly in a speech in Toronto on September 25 that UFOs are not only real but that "current and past US activities risk "intergalactic war." Hellyer, Canada's Defense Minister from 1963-67, said, "UFOs, are as real as the airplanes that fly over your head."
He then went on to say that the current US effort to create a permanent moon base was to give American forces a better means of tracking and possibly shooting at UFOs, and that "the consequences might be of starting an intergalactic war."
Imagery from NASA Shuttle missions STS-48 and STS-80 both show extensive and logically undeniable UFO activity around the shuttle, and the STS-48 video shows a pulse or beam of energy coming up from the earth just as the objects near the shuttle dart away. The beam came from central Australia, the location of the US Pine Gap electronic eavesdropping facility.
Dr. Mark Carlotto has written a new paper about the Mission STS-80 video that explains in detail why it does not show natural phenomena. To read it, click here. (PDF File. If you cannot open it, click here.
Story Musgrave, the commander of mission STS-80, has said that he "noticed nothing unusual" during that mission, but many astronauts have gone on record to say that we are being visited by ETs. To read some of their comments, clic k here.
Hellyer said, "The United States military are preparing weapons which could be used against the aliens, and they could get us into an intergalactic war without us ever having any warning." He also stated, "The Bush administration has finally agreed to let the military build a forward base on the moon, which will put them in a better position to keep track of the goings and comings of the visitors from space, and to shoot at them, if they so decide."
In conclusion, he said, "The time has come to lift the veil of secrecy, and let the truth emerge,so there can be a real and informed debate, about one of the most important problems facing our planet today."
There are now calls for the Canadian parliament to hold hearings on the UFO coverup, and for Canada to release secret documents regarding the matter.
You're not going to read this news in your local paper, so support us-- subscribe today! Visit the UFO section in our bookstore, where we've carefully selected important books that tell you the TRUTH about UFOs.
So, what do you all think?:cheer:

It could go there, but dang, if it's true, we all need to know...

That is, if it's true that the guy actually said that. Some people don't know how to tell science fiction from reality. Especially liberals, who have such a flexible concept of truth, that it must comply with their ideas.

I like science fiction because a.) it's a setting in which to tell stories with profound meanings and b.) it involves a kind of creativity that I can relate to.

But for pete's sake, it isn't real. And if it is, we know from the movies that since we have Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum, and HCI board member Richard Dean Anderson, we'll be fine.

I googled around a bit when I was on earlier this morning, and he seems to have really said it. I didn't wait for the download, but one site supposedly had video of his speech.

At least you have an intelligent response...as compared to many others. Is'nt it funny how quick we are to dismiss things when other things, equally as real, are just ignored? I've seen the video off the shot fired from Austraila, though i must admit I did not know where it came from except from earth. I also saw the vehicle, or whatever it was, make a 90 degree turn and vanish almost instantly. It's speed was a real eye opener.....faster than a Hyundia, that's for sure! If you watched all the old shows about the para-normal, that used to be on network TV, you saw the film too. Why is it so hard to believe we are not alone in the vastness of the universe? not that we, as earth folks are worthy of attention from galactic folks, for surly we are worms to them, more of a pest than anything else. Of course, they may just want to look at the funny earth folks, for educational purposes only, who knows? But, to deny the possibility of thier existance is not only short sighted but it borders on shear stupidity. Just my opinion.

Lightbulb "We are worms to them"?

If they're so gdmnd smart, why is it they could figure out how to travel across light years in defiance of the laws of physics......
and yet can't figure out how to examine a person without sticking a probe up thier arses.
Sounds like their doing it cause they WANT to do it.

I have little doubt there are, have been or will be other intelligences out there somewhere, Rufe. But to get from there to believing that they're flitting thru the countryside, and that the government is setting up a moon base so we can shoot at them, is a bit more of a stretch.

If they truly believed such a threat existed, I think we'd see a whole lot more activity from the feds. That moon base would be there yesterday, not some time in the future.

I enjoy Sci-fi as much as the next Trekkie - but ya gotta show me. I won't really believe til I see ET giving me the finger from the cockpit of his AstroSaucer.

I do believe the US Gubmint has some nifty flying toys that go way beyond the Shuttle and the Stealth planes.
Something is plying the skies over Groom Lake.

Da Vinci designed some flying machines but everyone said it was impossible or science fiction.
Radios were impossible or science fiction.
Automobiles were impossible or science fiction.
Surgery was impossible or science fiction.
Traveling to the moon was impossible or science fiction.
Television was impossible or science fiction.
Submarines were impossible or science fiction.
Photography was impossible or science fiction.
Skyscrappers were impossible or science fiction.

I love science fiction, it usually comes true

I'm of the point of view that folks in certain parts of the government are quite happy with the idea that folks think certain things are aliens. It's been hinted to be from far too many sources that there's a lot of stuff that we just don't know about. Frankly my reaction is to relax. Usually all that type of stuff looks far less intimidating up close. Want something intimidating, how about an A-10 or an F/A-18.
