three months sober!!!!

My last drink was September 17,2005. I went into the ER on the 18th with Kidney stones. They told me it was from all the beer, coffe and Motren that I have been on for years(bad shoulder and knee). Anny way I feel better now that I'm sober, I still get craveing bad, especially when its been a stressfull day. I hope to make it for the rest of my life.

Congratulations!! I was a drinker in college and after. A little over 13 years ago I decided to stop drinking and smoking. Yes at the same time! Best decision I ever made. Never looked back. About the only time I think I really want a cold beer anymore is after I come in from mowing the lawn on a hot summer day. It dose get easier. Good luck!

1963, I have to take my hat off and honor anyone who has taken the first step and who can make a claim such as yours.

I wish you the future's best in remaining sober.

You can think of it this way, too...all the money you save you can put it into guns, ammo, accessories, etc.:full:

Losing the Motrin is probably doing you as much good as losing the alcohol; it can be some mean stuff.

What are you doing about your shoulder and knee without it?

I haven't quit drinking; it's on my "to-do" list. But I did quit smoking almost eight years ago (seven years, nine months, two weeks and a day, but who's counting...).

1963duce100 - Keep up the good work. I quit smoking in January 1972 the only reason was, I knew I was smoking cigarettes out of habit. I did light a cigarette in 1981 for a ladyfriend, and am I glad I quit, I couldn't get the bad taste out of my mouth for almost a week!

I recently found I have an allergic reaction to yeast, so bread and beer are out of the question right NOW! I never had a problem with beer or wine, because the beer or wine starts to taste bad after 1 to 2 drinks (glasses or beers), and I only drank beer because it tasted good for a drink or two with dinner.
