I remember you now... We left together a few times.
You have me pegged.. But Please No Real Names on here.. Thanks

I enjoyed driving for Terry, that is until some of the BIG carriers came and started to undercut his rates and I started driving my as- off to take home less money. I made more money driving 3000 miles per week than I did when I left at 4200 miles.
Fonda Loads were the best, did my own lumping.

Small world or what?

Fonda moved their operating out of Vermont a few years ago, Rock-Tenn, QST, and Wyeth were the main customers. Then Wyeth became PBM, Total Quality was the carrier, Terry got loads to Michigan from Total Quality, but the rate was cut so bad we had to run across Canada to Michigan. Terry fired me in July and I went to work for Heartland Transportation out of Estherville Iowa pulling 53 foot reefer. I like the company, they treat me like family. Alison and I still rent from Terry's wife Holly. Until she goes up on the rent, then we're out of there.

He hasn't changed, still smokes like a chimney, coffee by the gallon. Even though I changed jobs I still see him from time to time. I drop my trailer in his yard when I go home. Last week I sat at the table in the shop talking to him for a half hour or so. No hard feelings between us.
Good to see you on the site, I don't get to shoot much. I belong to the Sportsmans club of Franklin County, on Sundays when I'm at home I go to the skeet range, I haven't been on the rifle range in over a year.

Otter, if you ever make over our way, I'll toss clays for you. It's a sport I'm not good at, and would like to get better.

Change of plan, I loaded out of Schaumburg IL. going to Gaffney SC. then reloaded out of Hendersonville NC. going to Ankeny IA. then took the truck to the Carerpillar dealer in Sioux City IA. and left it for some engine upgrades, brought another truck back to HQ. Estherville, now I'm in a hotel until Friday morning.

I had a day at the hotel after delivering in Laurens IA. then I went to Chanhassen MN. to load and delivered in Westfield Ma. I did a chamber casting of a Whitneyville Armory Rolling block rifle, then came home for a couple of days off.

Otter, some other drivers I know told me their bosses curtailed the carry of self-defense measures in their trucks. Is that the norm these days?

Most companies do not allow firearms in their vehicles. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations do not address firearms or weapons. Leaving us to comply with local and state laws.

I'm in Midway FL. I leave here Tuesday morning to go to Winter Haven for delivery at 18:00 hours Tuesday.
