McCalla AL. (Bessemer) just fueled and showered and northward bounding, going to Lincoln RI. New Orleans was still there Monday, can't say I liked being there. Traded some uniform patches.

Otter, Watch out for buildings that might jump out in front of the plane. Good luck up there in the wild blue.

Man...you do get around Otter. How many miles do you think you drive every year?

Kitty doesn't drive, I do about 140,000 to 150,000 a year. I'm in Clear Brook, Va. on my way to Massachusetts. Hope to get in some flying Sunday. I've flown around Manhatten, not a good area for a low time pilot or a CFI from California.
I spent a good part of today running up the road with another ham radio operator, I invited him to join us here.

Otter...let us know when/if he becomes a member. We'll welcome him, especially with your recommendation.

Gotta question for ya Otter. A couple of months ago I got my class A CDL. I drive truck for my county's highway department hauling gravel. But lately I have been thinking about maybe working for a company and do some over the road trucking. My uncle use to do that and he told me that they couldn't pay him enough to go back to doing that. So my question is what advice or input you would want to give a guy thinking about doing some OTR trucking? Thanks.

When I worked construction I longed to be on the road, now I'm on the road and I think I made better money driving ten wheeler hauling dirt and rock in the seventies.
Get a couple of years experience with who ever will hire you, after a couple of years you can hire on with a more reputable company. UPS and Walmart are the best paying companies to work for, roadway will start drivers at 51 cents a mile or there abouts. The reputable companies are going to require two or three years verifiable experience.
The company I work for requires at least one year, or our insurance company I should say.

Otter...If you're in Nebraska today, watch out for those crazy drivers because they're mighty angry after Nebraska U. lost to Oklahoma State in a football game this afternoon.

Football? That's the pointed one that doesn't roll, right? Unlike the round black and white one that the rest of the world calls football where the players use their feet.
I'm in North Platte waiting for my log book to get here so I can fuel and get under way, I forgot about the time change and got up an hour early.
Now I've got Gabe Pressman on television interviewing some politician, I'll be glad when the elections are over so I can go into the holiday depression.
I went in to shower and have breakfast, I was early and the barfette wasn't set up. I ordered from the menu, I told the waitress that I wanted orange juice, four slices of wheat toast dry, and four links of sausage. She told me that an order of sausage was two links. I told her, "If I want four and an order is two..." I glanced around the table, "Where's my calculator?"
"Do you want two orders of sausage?" she asked. She's a sharp one, I thought, "Yes, please, that should work."
Now this politician is talking about illegal alians, I believe in amnesty for illegals, deport the !!!!!!!s and see if they get amnesty from their homeland.
It's hard to watch the news without getting wound up about something, now the Bronx is burning. I'm not a big fan of the Bronx, but I have to admit it serves a useful purpose, that's alot of people who aren't in Vermont.
