First, I would like to say that I am new SKS owner. I purchased a YUGO SKS from a gun show this past weekend. It was a great deal and I like the style of the rifle. Now to my question... With the knowledge that everone seams to have here, I am looking for a weaver style, receiver cover, scope mount that I will be able to utilize my iron sights but also keep the scope at zero. I have done some research, and I keep hearing about how the receiver cover scope mounts do not keep zero very well. What are your suggestions? Thanks for the help.
I have considered the scout mount but that places the scope too far down the rifle and I feel that it may be uncomfortable to shoot with the scope in that position. But, that is open to discussion too. Thanks again for your help.
A common mount that is generally good holding zero, Leapers makes one with screws that tighten the mount to the receiver. Much better than the ones that lack them.
B-Square makes a mount that attaches outside of the receiver cover, I have heard it was fine. Choate makes one that must be drilled and tapped to the receiver, but that would be the most secure option.
On scout scope mounts, they are supposed to use a special extended eye relief scope. Using a regular scope at that distance would give understandable poor results.

Now that I have a few suggestions, what web-site can I find these mounts on. I have been doing some searching on my own, but I am sure someone here can direct me to some better web-sites.
So the leapers scope mount sounds like the way to go. How do you like the scope that came with the mount? Is it just a basic scope? Does it have the weaver rail system or just the rings for the scope? I have been looking at ebay, but all that stuff gets confusing because I have no idea what I am looking for. Thanks for the help sks forever.
