Arctic Test Completed

Today I put the newly built Romanian AK thru its arctic test. It has been-50 here the past two nights and -35 during the day,so I put the gun outside and let it freeze all afternoon. Just test fired it and...It functioned Flawlessly with Wolf HP ammo ! The ammo was frozen as well! I built this rifle a little tighter than usual to test accuracy which I will do when I'm not so shivery...LOL.... but wanted to make sure it would do the job at outside temps. Only a small amount of oil was used on the hammer pin and trigger pin at assembly and that was Amsoil 2 cycle 100:1(blue), and a wipe inside the bolt carrier on the rotating slot! It works...I'm happy...Life is GOOD !!!

so, can you walk easily over lakes, I know you cant do it in wisconsin, some people recently died trying

I love the reliability of an AK. You can always trust it!!
Do you get to fire your guns in your property since you are in the "Alaskan Wilderness"

Yep, you can walk on em, drive on em...lake Ice is 4 ft this time of year minimum. Reliability is what I want in a firearm at these temperatures. I can shoot Right here anytime, day or night and test at different temperatures.
I'm waiting for a friend to bring his bulldozer over and he wants to put in a 1000 yard range for the .50 cal.

In PA we can fire our own guns on our own property depending on county and municipality.

Crossing a lake is relative to how cold it has been and for how long and what the current is like in a lake (yes lakes have current.) Really it mostly depends on the lake.
