three wheelers

for the life of me i dont understand why they banned the sale of em in this country? but does anyone know if any are still being sold in any other country? my sister has a honda big red 250 and her husband has a honda rubicon four wheeler, and im telling ya the big red is way more manuverable and just has greater ability. the rubicon weighs like 40,00000000 pounds and has the turning radius of a 73 lincoln continental. but i was just wondering if yall knew if any three wheelers were still being produced any where else?

The only 3 wheeler I ever saw much of was driven by a guy I didn't like. That's kind of ruined them for me. I think his was for sale at some point.

Whether banning three-wheelers was big brotherism run amok can be debated. But there's no doubt they turn over a lot easier than a quad. I haven't seen any statistics, but everyone I've personally known who ate it bad on an ATV did it on a trike, not a quad.

Can they really be more dangerous that a dirtbike? I would think that three wheels would be more stable than two.

It wasn't big brother that was behind the ban but rather the major insurance companies and some states jumped on the taboo bandwagon.

Arizona is not one of them.

I had several 3 wheelers (and now quads) and I can attest to the fact 3 wheelers are much more unstable (depends, of course, on how they are ridden....but 3 wheelers are much more unstable in the hands of those who don't respect the machine and environment).

I've had dirt bikes also and the three wheelers are more unstable.

I'm not sure how to explain it but with a dirt bike you can manuever and turn the front (no hi speed considered) where as the front tire on a three wheeler is a pivot point.

You get the tire too on a 3 wheeler turned to far toward a 90 degree angle with the axis of the 3 wheeler you are asking for some problems.

Quads are designed (in the face of a lot of legal liability) to where you can't turn the tires sharp enough to be a real hazard in it's self

Most people that get hurt on quads these days get hurt out of daring, stupidity, lack of following good common sense, and speed where speed is not an option.

We used to have 3 wheelers when I was a kid, and used to take them and ride them in the sand dunes of Pismo Beach, California. Great times, but we saw a lot of people get hurt flipping them over. One girl, maybe 20, was killed by the handlebar hitting her in the chest. I was young, but remember it clearly.

it is true they are more unstable than other atvs, and i know alot of poeple that have wrecked on three wheelers, but only know one that flipped it and he was drunk and trying to do things on it that he shouldnt. i have never seen any stats on accidents/deaths on three wheelers, but im willing to bet that more people are killed on street bikes a year than on three wheel atvs. id be willing to bet there are alot more people hurt/killed in cars, trucks, private planes and probably even skate boards than three wheel atvs per year, but none of them have been banned? the ban just seems like a knee jerk reaction to a problem that was blown way out or proportion.

We use a lot of bikes for mustering sheep over here on hill blocks, the main problem with the three wheeler's was you could be whipping around a mob in a big arc and the bike would be on two wheels a lot which is fine BUT you never new when they would go all the way

Four wheeler's do tip but you have to be pushing them pretty hard, in saying that there isn't meany that haven't been flipped over here.

One thing I will say is it's not very nice when it does happen!

two three or four, If you don't respect the machine, they will get you. I prefer three personally. I know what size I can handle. I know it can kill me, just like many other machines and tools.
