Well, to answer the question, I think bush will lie some more so we have to go into iran. I think he'll start lieing very soon so he can get the ball rolling. I doubt china will bother us unless we start it with them. They really want our money in trade so I think they won't want to kill the golden goose. Remember, we are the biggest buyer of all those cheap little widgets....china needs us to keep buying. If we are at war, we won't buy the junk. And, realistically, there is no one who will step in to take our place of buying. I think we are safe from the chinese folks. however, bush is an idiot and I feel sure he'll stick his nose where it doesn't belong before too long. remember, he's outa here in 3!!!! Thank you, God! He's gotta get going soon so I don't look to wait very much longer. I expect gas will be $5.00 a gallon and we will all suffer. The economy is sure to decline and I feel sure it will be very much the pits for us all...unless you already have your's, maybe then. But, the cost of stuff will strain everyone's budgets......of course bush and his crones will be doing great, remember, the extra cost, and then some, gets passed along to the consumers!

I think you're right in the short term, Rufus, about China, but in the long term history will tell them to be something very opposite of a friend.

China will reach the height of its power in the next decade, after that it starts a long slide into a big dark hole. It might even break into pieces and become an East Asian version of Africa, constantly at war with itself while its people die by the millions. The "one child" law has been effect since 1978, or for a full generation. With the greatest portion of its population now over 40 years old China's demographics make our own social security problem look like child's play. Couple that with a bias towards male children and it only gets worse. What makes China so dangerous is their massive population, take that same population and make it old and decrepit and the nation follows. Instead of its population being a weapon it’s a massive hindrance

Another thing that worries me is our lack of industrial base. During WWII, all those car, appliance, and other factories converted to wartime production. Now, if a WWIII type war happened, much of our manufacturing is in countries like China. I fear we couldn't produce enough to save our skins.:insane:

China is not a superpower yet. It does not posess a true bluw water naval ability at this time. Its airforces would be liquidated in a week vs the US. I grant you a 4 million man army is something hard to overcome but we could negate their ability to move around town and picking up a pizza.

Yep, China will not lightly kill off their biggest customer. And supplier . . . They are still mostly Third World, with pockets of Second World technology. They try to give the impression of being First World (Super Power) level, but it's all smoke and mirrors. Still, they have massive production capacity - which we now are lacking. As long as we can deny them the ability to transport their huge army, they remain a defensive force only. I still see the Islamic Extremists with their Mexican Connections as much more dangerous to us. We aren't dealing with them at all - our heads are in the sand. :insane: Europe is obviously trying to take over our dominance in the world market - and I expect they'll do it. If the UN succeeds in wresting away control of the Internet, then we really go into the crapper . . .

Ther is no doubt that China is the superpower. China's economy is the best in the world and because of that they can't be taken down by the US. Our economy depends soley on China. We could not survive if China stopped trading with us. Over 80 percent of import and exports of our country is with China and we need what they have. Most of the manufacturing jobs are being lost because the big companies get cheaper products from China and American workers are being layed off by the thousands while China is propering. The US can just be products already made by China just like Wal-Mart does. Now the majority of US jobs are in retail which pay less than manufacturing jobs, so in turn, our entire economy drops a little with every trade made with China.

There is only one way our economy will survive, terrifs. We have to terrif everything that comes from China. They will pay it because they depend on our country too, just not as much as we depend on them. If we charge a 5 percent terrif on every major product that comes from China, it will go back into our government so they do not have to tax the American people as much. If we do not, our taxes are going to sore as China is laughing at us. I know what I am talking about

If Iran if allowed to make nukes, the world is screwed. Either the US or Isreal HAS TO take those nukes out. It would only be a matter of time before Isreal and then the US disapeared under mushroom clouds. And while we would THEN retaliate it would be to late for millions of Americans. I thought "my World" of the cold war was dangerous, we are leaving for our kids a truly dangerous world. At least in the cold war there were some rules and common sense. Unfortunately our current enemies don't use rules and don't appear to have much in the way of common sense. It is really scary.

Well, I don't see much sense in argueing with you guys. If you are China haters then that's that. China is where she is today because we choose to become a third world nation so the greedy business folks could rape America no matter the cost. You don't agree this is the cause? Fine, ignore plain fact. I seroiusly doubt China will ever bother us if we just mind our own business. Of course, that's something we just can't seem to do.

The fascists and jack-booted hate-mongers and racists will have complete control over the propaganda machine and the brainwashing will have been a fabulous success--anyone not white (on the inside) and Christian (on the outside) will have been rounded up and "disappeared" by the time Dick Cheney's second term ends (Bush having choked on a pretzel while watching Jay Leno). Further elections will be outlawed as by that time America will be owned and operated by World Megacorp Industries (a subsidiary of Halliburton) and instead a board of directors appointed by Ann Coulter and Condee Rice will determine how America is managed. Still somewhat pissed about Armegeddon not arriving, rightwing fundamentalists will ascend anyway to join George Dubyah in heaven--which will look a lot like Texas... China will continue its war on America using their number one weapon: Wal Mart. All shoes will have tracking devices and DNA samplers built into them to assure that any s**t-kicking is added to the Homeland Security database and accords with our new constitution, crafted by Rush Limbaugh, Billy Graham and Anheiser Busch III.... Cigarettes, Alcohol and Marijuana will be outlawed, but an analogous pharmaceutical pill, developed and marketted by Pfeiser that combines the effects of all three, will be the number one prescription drug in the world, despite side effects including rectal bleeding, hair loss and amnesia. Schools will have become too expensive and considered a public burden by StateCorp--so all education will derived entirely from reality shows. Of course all weapons will have been confiscated--for the public good--including extremely well-sharpened pencils and any thin-edged paper products. Urban sprawl will have erased all traces of animals and wilderness from the cultural memory--private or public land will no longer exist as the idea of actually owning something will seem absurd ever since money was made illegal. Books and other historical documents will be kept in vaults being proven a source of dissension and public unrest.

I think we have our hands full at the moment and I don't think people will support Bush if he went traipsing acroos the mideast yet again. While I agree there are people over there that need a serious @$$whooping; I do not think another exercise in NATION BUILDING would be favorable for us. Remember the '80s when you would see a blurb on the evening news...... "US F-16's led airstrikes on ........... in response to ..............." It; done; over;:drink: finished!

That's why I dug Reagan. Libya said we couldn't fly in the Persian Gulf....so we flew to the Persian Gulf. They locked onto our F16's...we blew oil rigs out of the Gulf. Libya backed down, and we all went back to waiting for Soviet missles to come over the horizon. I'm no devout Reaganite but one good thing about Reagan...he was the only President who was a nuclear abolitionist. Like me. The number one reason I don't think any of this stuff you guy's are talking about is going to happen is because someone somewhere would push the button eventually and the dominoes would fall. And that's not Armegeddon, just simple annihlation.
