I have a chance to buy a good used 700 Classic in 350 mag $320, no scope or rings, but all the brass dies bullets ect. My friend that offerd it to me had this gun stolen from him in 2004. Cops returned it to him alittle worse for the whare then it wsa before it got stolen, He sais the the finish on the stock is worn in a few spots but appears to have no rust. I'm going to take a look at it next week. I can easily refinish the stock when I go to glass bed it, so that i no big deal. Swears it shoot 1" groups with Speer 220 gr flat points. Sound loke a good deal to me.
My wife agrees that I should buy it. My shoulder may not agree. He says
6 3/4lbs with no scope ouch!!! This gives my wife a chance to hunt with my 700 in 30-06. The guy I'm buying it from say 1" with Speer 220gr flat piont handloads. Says it knocks game down flat and hard. I like MORE POWER. This will be my first magnum rifle.
Not sure if you've shot a 350 Rem Mag before, but ballistically it's similar to 35 Whelen, which is a necked up 30-06. Heavier recoil of course than a 30-06, but not insanely so.

Go for it. Sounds like a good deal to me. You can install a good recoil pad (limbsaver) when you refinish the stock. Only drawback is limited availibility of factory ammo. If you reload, no big deal there either. Good Luck
I get the rifle on friday, dies brass every thing, then it's a trip to the gun stor to buy some Nosler 225 partitions and some 200gr hornady, along with a limbsaver pad. and try to work up a load. I'll get some pics done next week.
