I accidently bought non-corrosive .22LR wolf match ammo cause I thought they were cheap, but it turned out to cost almost $30 bucks for 500 rounds. I was shooting them, and they're accurate. When I eject the case, there's a funny smell that isn't normal. I was wondering if there's something different about wolf ammo from American brands?
Any good Match ammo costs more than plinking stuff, but the Manufacturing quality is higher. I don't sniff fired cases because of lead exposure, so I can only speculate that it is either the type of powder used, or the polymer coating you are smelling !
Wolf match ammo uses VhitaVhouri powder in the .22's!

there is no polymer/laquer on the rimfire rounds. wolf 22 is good stuff, maybe a little dirty, but good. wolf 22lr ammo is made by SK in germany and is high quality.
I don't sniffs the casing, but the scent was strong enough to that I could smell it out in the open. That's why I was asking. It's really accurate in my .22 savage model II, that was my first gun, and you know how it was with your first gun. Probably 12000 rounds have been shot through mine. I'd shoot a 550 round brick of bullets in a day.
